The Headlines:  

In the role of a Plant Maintenance Mechanic working at the Rocky Mountain Bottling Companyyou must have the necessary experience, aptitude, and education to perform mechanical repairs, set-up, adjustment, troubleshooting, P.M. inspections, replacements, and overhauls to ensure equipment reliability. Advanced Computer skills required. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude and experience. Performing mechanical preventive maintenance and repairs will be a routine requirement of this position in addition to responding to breakdowns.


The Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to learn and troubleshoot RMBC production and facilities equipment and processes.
  • Proactively responds to Planned work schedule, line calls on assigned equipment, gather information, troubleshoot the problem and resolve the failure and repairs in a timely manner to maximize production availability.
  • Must have equal ability to work as part of a high performance team or as an individual contributor as dictated by the situation.
  • Proactively performs preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, while being an active contributor and supporter of the Asset Care program.
  • Identifies system and/or equipment deficiencies and initiates the modification process, while using CMMS work notification and Management of Change procedures. Ensures successful changes are implemented on like equipment and communicates changes made to those affected.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in root-cause failure analysis and problem-solving techniques to ensure effective repairs on equipment are completed.
  • Regular interface with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is required. Basic computer skills preferred are as follows: Windows, MS Office, MS Outlook, and SAP.
  • Follows proper radio and electronic communication when communicating information within and outside the Maintenance department.
  • Assists the Maintenance Manager and/or Planner to identify, define, and prioritize work needed to improve equipment reliability. Interface with the planners to develop and maintain equipment history, maintenance strategies and improvements.
  • Assesses and continuously improves skills as mechanical and/or electrical training is available.
  • Adheres to and proactively supports all RMBC policies and regulations (WCSC, Quality, Safety, Health, Environmental, GMP, and Housekeeping, etc.).
  • Contributes to a safe work place by performing all tasks in accordance with federal policies and procedures: OSHA (Lock-out/Tag out and Confined-space entry), EPA, and FDA.
  • Provides training and work-instruction certification in primary craft to trainees, peers and Production personnel.


The OtherQualifications:

  • Training with certificate/degree of competency in applicable field(s) and/or Associates degree in related studies a plus. Military training will be considered
  • Work experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment preferred.
  • Must demonstrate skills in the following: interpersonal relationships, active listening, team-building, communication, problem solving, planning, organizing, scheduling, and negotiating with a continuous improvement focus.
  • Must possess self-control, initiative, patience, influence, and a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to receive and give constructive criticism
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude to be effective in this role.
  • Additional desired skills:
    • HVAC Troubleshooting skills
    • Mobile equipment maintenance (forklifts & loaders, etc)
    • Carpentry skills
    • Plumbing knowledge including pipefitting
    • Electrical
