Crafted Highlights: 

In the role of Mobile Equipment Technician working in Wheat Ridge, CO you will perform mechanical and electrical duties on various types of mobile equipment such as repairs, set-up, adjustment, troubleshooting, P.M. inspections, replacements and overhaul to ensure equipment reliability. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude and experience. Performing mechanical maintenance and repairs will be a routine requirement of this position in addition to mobile equipment electrical and controls knowledge and skills.


Works as a bumper to bumper technician in widely skilled craft role. Assists in the training of new operators of mobile equipment. Performs all work in a safe manner demonstrating proper use of safety equipment and PPE at all times. Requires interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all teams across the organization.

 

What You'll Be Brewing:

  • Safe use and care of all hand/power tools and shop equipment (e.g. grinders, drills, drill presses, saws, belt sanders, rigging and lifting devices (e.g. slings, chain-falls, Come-Alongs, block and tackle, and jacks, etc.)
  • Awareness of safety concerns while working on, around or near mobile equipment, high speed rotating equipment and temperature extremes.
  • Knowledge and skills to maintain and repair mechanical equipment (e.g. gears, gearboxes, bearings, seals, forklift rotators, hydraulics, electric carts, scissor lifts, boom lifts etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with diesel operation, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Knowledge and experience with propane powered equipment, troubleshooting and repair
  • Proficient with electrical controls on associated equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience with battery operated mobile equipment (I.E. Scissor lifts, electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks etc.)
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical and hydraulic drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in multiple welding processes- SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW-G, fabrication experience a plus
  • Automotive HVAC knowledge and repair experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a mobile equipment operators license and able to operate various types of mobile   equipment.
  • Perform Lock Out, Tag Out and Try Out of equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and reliability principles
  • Experience using a CMMS system for work orders, creation, parts ordering etc.
  • Computer skills as follows: Windows, MS Office, MS Outlook, and SAP.
  • Candidate may be required to work in hot areas, dusty areas, cold areas and outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Ability to work overtime and any shift as required.
  • Ability to respond to emergency call-ins as needed
  • Candidate must provide their own tools

Key Ingredients:

  • Technical training and/or military training.
  • Certificate of competency in applicable field(s) and/or Associates degree in related studies a plus.
  • Work experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment preferred. Military experience in a technical field will be considered
  • Must demonstrate skills in the following: interpersonal relationships, active listening, team-building, communication, problem solving, planning, organizing, scheduling, and negotiating with a continuous improvement focus.
  • Must possess self-control, initiative, patience, influence, and a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to receive and give constructive criticism
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude in addition to electrical experience to be effective in this role.
