In the role of Sr. Director, Federal Government Affairs working in Washington, DC, you will be a part of the Legal & Government Affairs team. You will oversee federal legislative, regulatory, and political priorities, ensuring that Molson Coors’ strategies are executed within Congress and the Administration. You are responsible for leading and directing the execution of our political program capability, including supporting our federal Political Action Committee, and coordinating cross-functional support for legislative and regulatory priorities aligned with our business objectives.
This position reports to the Vice President - Government Affairs, and works closely across the legal & government affairs, sales, communications, community engagement, finance, and supply chain functions.
What You’ll Be Brewing:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive federal government affairs strategy, including creating individual strategic plans on priority issues to both defend business objectives and proactively accelerate growth.
- Understand national politics, and complexities of the industry, and develop and execute strategies within those constraints to ensure successful outcomes.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on legislative and regulatory matters impacting the company.
- Represent our brands and our business before Congress, federal agencies, and other relevant entities; build and maintain relationships with key legislators, regulators, and their staff.
- Leverage a broad and diverse portfolio of US and international trade association memberships, as well as a team of federal consultants, to accomplish lobbying and business objectives.
- Draft policy positions, testimony, comment letters, and other advocacy materials.
- Support the Molson Coors Political Action Committee, including developing and implementing strategies to increase PAC participation, communicating the PAC’s mission, goals, and achievements to internal stakeholders, and aligning PAC activities with broader advocacy strategies.
- Oversee compliance with federal lobbying disclosure requirements and regulations.
- Establish and drive coalitions within the beer sector, within the alcohol industry, or as needed to accomplish public policy objectives.
- Represent the government affairs interests of Molson Coors within internal cross-functional teams and among various non-company external stakeholder interests.
- Develop, execute, and align strategies of interconnected components and departments to minimize risk.

Pay and Benefits:
At Molson Coors, we’re committed to paying people fairly and equitably for the work they do.
Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings: $188,900.00 - $248,000.00 (posting salary range) + 30% target short term incentive + target long term incentive + $23,000 on average spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives and EAP + paid time off (including holidays, vacation days and sick days).
The posting range provided above for salary is what we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors that inform pay decisions including but not limited to the required work location, previous work experience, skill set and internal equity.
