The Headlines:
In the role of Agronomist working in Monte Vista, Colorado you will develop and manage supplier (grower) relationships within one of the scenic barley production regions of the Rocky Mountain West. This position provides barley production guidance to Molson Coors barley growers in Colorado through consultation to achieve a high level of malt barley quality as well as sustainability. This position spends a significant amount of time outside the office, traveling regionally to visit growers. The Agronomist also contributes as needed to elevator operations as well as manages and executes independent projects for the Barley Program.
This position reports to the Regional Manager – Barley Program.
The Responsibilities:
· Implementing Molson Coors procurement strategies. Executing the Molson Coors barley contract with growers. Responsible for maintaining the grower base to obtain the best barley to maximize the highest value to Molson Coors. Works to improve the grower community level of sustainability within the Molson Coors Barley Program.
· Collaborating with the Molson Coors barley growers to produce a quality crop that meet Molson Coors contract specifications. Agronomic recommendations encompass planting, integrated pest management, irrigation, and timing of harvest.
· Collaborating with the Barley Research and Development in the planning, execution, and analysis of variety development activities in area. Providing expert support and knowledge to the Farm Operator to enable the research farm to deliver the best performance.
· Managing or assisting, with the administration of a certified barley seed program, including contracting of seed growers and inspections of grower’s equipment and storage. Managing seed wholesaler relationships.
The Other Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or Business, or 5 years practical field experience in agronomy or related field required.
· Practical experience in small grain production is required.
· Demonstrated skills with common software such as Windows, Excel, and Word. Ability to quickly learn to manage information in grain accounting systems as well as ArcGIS Pro.
· Can demonstrate skills in trouble shooting, technical crop knowledge, and decision making.

Pay and Benefits:
At Molson Coors, we’re committed to paying people fairly and equitably for the work they do.
Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings: $76,000.00 - $99,700.00 (posting salary range) + 10% target short term incentive + $23,000 on average spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives and EAP + paid time off (including holidays, vacation days and sick days).
The posting range provided above for salary is what we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors that inform pay decisions including but not limited to the required work location, previous work experience, skill set and internal equity.
