Crafted Highlights:
As a Technical Services Intern you will be part of our Early Talent Program. Our Early Talent Program is Molson Coors’ undergraduate summer internship program, where students are exposed to the beverage industry, engaged in real-world problem-solving, and immersed in social and educational opportunities with other interns. The internship is a full-time summer position from May 27 - August 7 (U.S. interns). Housing assistance is available to candidates who meet eligibility requirements. Applicants must be an undergraduate student (enrolled in undergraduate courses), during the summer internship, to participate in the Early Talent Program. Interns who successfully complete the Early Talent Program are considered for full-time positions within Molson Coors Beverage Company, upon graduation.
You will support the Utilities & Sustainability team within the Technical Services & Support (TS&S) department. TS&S identifies, validates, and executes capital projects, and provides operational improvement support for the Molson Coors network of breweries.
Other Technical Services areas of focus include Malting & Process, Packaging & Warehousing, Automation, Controls, & Electrical (ACE), and World Class Supply Chain (WCSC).
What You’ll Be Brewing:
- Provide Utilities/Process optimization support, to analyze variances in processes and performance and identify and execute opportunities to improve performance.
- Potential Projects/Initiatives:
- Projects vary widely: equipment replacements/upgrades, programming and controls changes, water reclaim/re-use, heat recovery, etc.
- Ideally one or more small project(s) will be executed by this intern during their summer internship.
- Additionally, candidates will support large projects – engineering support, bidding, operations reviews, startup support, documentation/handover, etc., while learning from experienced project managers.
- Drive Sustainability improvements, enabling Molson Coors to deliver stretch targets for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, CO2 self-sufficiency, and Water Use Reductions.
- Analysis of Sustainability Metrics, identifying key drivers & opportunities, in partnership with Sustainability Engineers.
- Regression modeling of Sustainability KPIs vs. brewery run schedules and seasonal climate/weather.
- Analyze Clean-in-Place (CIP) reports and water/chemical usage, in conjunction with Hygiene/Quality results.
- Utilize data historians and reporting to identify gaps and perform benchmarking across North American breweries on similar equipment types (e.g. boilers, ammonia refrigeration, CO2 collection).
- In-person analysis of Utilities-critical systems and equipment.
- Flow balancing and temperature controls for pasteurizers.
- Investigation of reclaim systems for re-use in Utilities systems such as cooling towers.
- Support Utilities Infrastructure Assessments, which look for risks and possible mitigations in our existing facilities.
- Analysis of Sustainability Metrics, identifying key drivers & opportunities, in partnership with Sustainability Engineers.
Key Ingredients:
- You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering
- Results-oriented, with a passion to learn and make a positive impact on Molson Coors’ business
- Strong communication and organizational skills, creativity in problem-solving
- High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Outstanding candidates will have experience leading initiatives/projects in manufacturing environments. Data analysis and economic optimization experience are a plus.
- Time Management/work prioritization skills.
