Title: Senior Staff Brewer
Job Description: The Senior Staff Brewer (multiple positions open) at Molson Coors Beverage Company USA LLC in Milwaukee, WI will provide brewing and beverage production expertise in the facilitation and coordination of plant project activities and problem resolution. Deliver innovation opportunities and process optimization initiatives for business units utilizing subject matter knowledge in brewing, cider making, and fermentation of alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages. Integrate knowledge of beverage materials and equipment interaction to ensure effective technical solutions. Carry out trials and interpret data to inform suitability of product development/innovation in the beer, seltzer, flavored malt beverage, and non-alcoholic beverage categories. Consult with brewing staff and brewery management. Evaluate engineering recommendations. Implement beer and beverage product trials and qualifications. Recommend brewing and beverage system improvements. Evaluate corporate engineering recommendations to ensure compatibility with current and future brewing requirements. Review and prepare technical reports, papers, and publications. Conduct seminars on brewing and beverage technologies and standards. Start up or modify brewing and beverage equipment and products. Evaluate plant brewing operational procedures and audit systems. May telecommute up to 2 days per week. Requires travel to Molson and supplier locations up to 50% of the time.
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years in a professional brewing, or related, occupation in a commercial liquid beverage manufacturing and high-speed packaging environment. Must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: (1) developing improvement strategies in brewing; (2) technical interpretations of brewing products, processes, and raw materials; (3) analyzing beverage materials and brewing equipment interaction; (4) evaluating engineering recommendations to ensure compatibility with brewing requirements; (5) performing trials across multiple breweries to inform beverage safety, quality, functionality, and consumer liking; (6) conducting food or beverage safety compliance audits; 7) brewing process troubleshooting, optimization, and standardization using focused improvement processes and statistical analysis; and, 8) brewing control software including Brewmax or Botek.
