The Headlines:   

In the role of Sr. Staff Brewer working in Milwaukee, WI you will provide technical expertise in the facilitation and coordination of plant problem resolution and project activities in brewing and beverage production.  You will consult with brewing staff and brewery management, evaluate engineering recommendations, implement beer and beverage product trials and qualifications, recommend brewing and beverage system improvements, participate in start-ups of new/modified brewing and beverage equipment and products, and conduct seminars on brewing and beverage technologies and standards.

 

This position reports to Sr. Manager, Brewing & Beverage Process, and works closely with Quality, Innovation, Brewing, Research, Engineering and other cross functional teams.

 

The Responsibilities: 

  • Provides input and evaluation of plant brewing operational procedures and audit systems.
  • Leads and/or serves as a key participator in ad hoc task forces working on brewing issues or problems.
  • Consults with brewing staff and management at the plants on a regular basis on various problems/issues.
  • Evaluates Corporate Engineering recommendations to assure compatibility with current and future brewing requirements
  • Reviews and prepares technical reports, papers and publications

The Other Qualifications: 

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in brewing, chemical engineering, biology, microbiology  
  • You have at least 5 years experience in brewing, with experience in large-scale commercial breweries
  • Practical experience in a Brewing or Quality supervisory (or equivalent) role
  • Demonstrated understanding of the technical interrelationships of product, process and raw materials to effectively make product quality, specification and compliance decisions
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities
  • You build relationships and collaborate to get to the desired outcome  
  • You take accountability for results – acting with integrity and honoring commitments  
  • You have a thirst for learning – you are always looking for ways to learn and help one another grow
