In the role of Senior R&D Beverage Developer based in Milwaukee, WI, you will lead front-end beverage innovation and formulation development for current and emerging brand opportunities across North America. Drawing on deep expertise in flavors, beverage ingredients, and product development, you will partner with Commercial Marketing, Quality, Procurement, and production sites to design, optimize, evaluate, scale up, qualify, and launch new formulations.

You will also provide technical leadership for partnership brands, supplier relationships, and due diligence activities, ensuring solutions are commercially viable, manufacturable, and aligned with contractual requirements. As a trusted technical advisor, you will anticipate and address ingredient, formulation, and regulatory challenges while helping build capabilities that strengthen the future innovation pipeline.

What You'll Be Brewing:

• Lead beverage innovation and product development from concept through commercial launch. Translate consumer and brand objectives into technical product requirements while formulating and optimizing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages using flavors, sweeteners, acids, colors, functional ingredients, and processing parameters.
• Own the technical development and commercialization of new and renovated formulations, including bench-top prototyping, experimental design, sensory and analytical evaluation, stability and shelf-life testing, pilot and plant trials, scale-up activities, qualification, and post-launch troubleshooting.
• Analyze technical results, document conclusions, and recommend formulation or process improvements that achieve sensory, quality, cost, regulatory, and manufacturability objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for partnership brands, suppliers, and external development resources, including due diligence, ingredient qualification, supplier assessment, and resolution of technical challenges.
• Serve as a technical advisor to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on ingredient, formulation, processing, and regulatory matters while supporting compliance with applicable food safety, labeling, and alcoholic beverage requirements.

Key Ingredients:

• You have 5+ years of experience leading alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic beverage or food product development from concept through commercialization.
• You possess hands-on expertise in beverage formulation, ingredient systems, flavors, bench-top prototyping, sensory evaluation, stability testing, scale-up activities, manufacturing qualification, and troubleshooting.
• A Master's degree in Food Science, Brewing/Fermentation Science, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, Six Sigma, IBD Diploma (Brewing and/or Distilling), or Sensory/Flavor Chemistry Certification are considered assets.
• You build trust and influence across Marketing, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, production sites, suppliers, and external partners to advance complex innovation projects.
• You have strong beverage formulation expertise, including flavors, sweeteners, acids, colors, preservatives, and functional ingredients.
• You possess a solid understanding of alcoholic beverage development and brewing/distillation fundamentals.
• You are experienced in sensory evaluation, shelf-life studies, stability testing, and analytical testing methodologies.
• You have knowledge of commercialization, plant trials, manufacturing qualification, and process troubleshooting.
• You understand FDA, TTB, labeling, food safety, and regulatory requirements relevant to beverage development.
• You are skilled in experimental design, statistical analysis, specification development, and technical documentation.
• You have experience with supplier qualification, ingredient risk assessment, and cost optimization initiatives.
• You communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, exercise sound judgment, and constructively challenge assumptions when appropriate.

Pay and Benefits:

At Molson Coors, we’re committed to paying people fairly and equitably for the work they do.

Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings: $111,900.00 - $146,900.00 (posting salary range) + 15% target short term incentive + $23,000 on average spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives and EAP + paid time off (including holidays, vacation days and sick days).

The posting range provided above for salary is what we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We ultimately pay based on a number of non-discriminatory factors that inform pay decisions including but not limited to the required work location, previous work experience, skill set and internal equity.
