The Headlines:

In the role of Senior Counsel – Procurement working in Milwaukee, WI you will be part of the Americas Legal team.  You will be a leader in the development and implementation of Molson Coors Beverage Company’s processes to ensure effective negotiation and proper execution of commercial contracts for the Procurement Team. 

 

This role reports directly to the Assistant General Counsel, Procurement and Ops and works closely with the Procurement Team as well as internal stakeholders across the business. 

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Develop business relationships with the Procurement Team and other stakeholders, understanding their goals and priorities, implementing strategic best practices, limiting Molson Coors Beverage Company’s supply chain risk and exposure, and advising internal business clients on relevant legal contexts, issues and risks, and agreement structures.
  • Provide practical advice and guidance to internal clients and stakeholders, developing solutions to issues while effectively managing legal and practical business considerations.
  • Serve as lead counsel for Procurement Team: focused on contract drafting, review and negotiation of all types, including higher value and higher risk agreements, such as master services agreements, master goods agreements, statements of work, purchase orders, nondisclosure agreements, and general service contracts for deliverables ranging from brewing and packaging materials to SaaS and data subscription agreements.
  • Supervise and manage outside counsel.
  • Improve existing legal resources and processes to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Prepare and deliver training materials to educate colleagues about the use of, and periodic revisions to, contract templates and other legal resources.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Legal department culture and practices in alignment with Company-wide values, priorities, and goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • You have a law degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience practicing law in a law firm and/or corporate legal department.
  • You have supported clients that have complex international corporate structures and multiple lines of business.
  • You have experience managing legal paraprofessionals and outside counsel.   
  • Experience with SaaS agreements and data privacy issues a plus.
  • Experience with environmental issues such as water rights, waste disposal, natural resources, energy, or agriculture a plus.
  • You work independently with little supervision in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple, competing priorities, and maintaining attention to detail.
  • You take accountability for results – acting with integrity and honoring commitments.  
  • You build relationships and collaborate to get to the desired outcome.
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
