The Headlines:
In the role of Scrum Master working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin you will be part of the Information Technology team reporting to a Release Train Engineer. This role plays a critical role in enabling teams and teams of teams to deliver the highest priority demand, with quality and at a sustainable pace. They also play a critical role in helping establish and/or reinforce key ways of working processes. This role will act as servant leader, applying and optimizing Agile practices to improve team performance and effectiveness. This is done through skills such as: teaching, facilitating, mentoring, professional coaching, Agile Subject Matter Expertise and over time a high-level of technical or functional understanding of the teams' outputs.
The scrum master will also help coach teams, product owners, product managers and business stakeholders as the organization scales Agile. These interactions typically include things like, educating on ways of working, team dynamics and needs, roles and responsibility clarity and helping focus interaction that is going to drive team growth and quality demand deliverables.
The Responsibilities:
- Facilitate effective Scrum, Kanban or Scaled Agile ceremonies (like but not limited to daily stand-up meetings, iteration and release planning, sprint reviews, backlog refinements, team level PI Planning, Scrum Master Community of Practices, and retrospectives.) Actively represent agile team in scaled Agile ceremonies.
- Primarily accountable for enabling visibility and transparency to team's process given a particular timebox (e.g. iteration or a PI increment) while also enabling a team to understand and support the visualization over time.
- Key collaborator in onboarding/offboarding team members to their assigned team
- Embrace servant leadership, build and foster trust on team. Coach agile team to reach higher levels of maturity through continuous improvement.
- Identify and coordinate dependencies. Proactively drive the resolution of impediments across organizational boundaries. Ensure escalation of risks and issues when required.
- Build and maintain artifacts such as release burn downs/burn ups, velocity projections and delivery forecasts for project visibility and to ensure timely decision making. This includes learning, teaching and visualizing metrics.
- Support team in achieving optimal velocity to meet delivery objectives and improve customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with and guide the Product Owner through prioritization of features and stories, determining acceptance criteria and backlog refinement.
The Other Qualifications:
- You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
- You are an experienced, passionate servant leader with at least 3+ years of experience using Scrum, or Kanban in your day-to-day work.
- You are able to demonstrate expert-level knowledge in Scrum and Agile. CSM, PSM or other Agile certification a plus.
- You have experience, training and/or certification with Scaled Agile Framework® - highly prefer (SAFe®) certifications.
- You are open and responsive to change and handle ambiguity with ease.
- You love a challenge. You complete complex tasks autonomously, quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities. You act with urgency to adjust plans and align to strategy based on market trends and events.
- You are proactive, confident and competent. You are a strong facilitator and have world-class analytical skills.
- You are a positive, motivated leader who can inspire others; you drive accountability and are able to obtain optimal results from the team through respect and trust.
- Experience using Jira, Miro or other work management tools.
