The Headlines:
In the role of Data Science Manager working in Milwaukee, WI you will be part of the North America IT team. The Data Science Manager develops predictive analytics and machine learning solutions for one or more business units. Partnering with product owners, they are responsible for the end to end technical solution delivery for all data science work within their area of functional responsibility. The Data Science Manager is a thought leader for methodology and the practice of data science in the company, regularly contributing best practices to the community of practice and mentoring junior members of the team.
This position reports to the Director of Data Science and AI Solutions. The primary working group will be on a roughly 10 person high-performing data and analytics scrum team building out advanced forecasting and planning capabilities within the Integrated Business Planning Program.
The Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable, productionalized, predictive analytics data products to deliver measurable business value. Utilize currently recognized industry best practices in methodology.
- Collect and interpret business requirements, assist in value determination, research approaches, lead design of analytics solution components, guide team developing the solution.
- Create reusable tools, best practices and design patterns for developing predictive analytics solutions, recommend innovative new technologies and data. Influence and anchor adoption across the company.
- Interpret and articulate data science outputs and methodologies for non-technical audiences. Communicate to broad audiences through visualizations, presentations and demonstrations, ensure that insights and limitations of models are well-understood.
- Mentor and support junior analysts and data scientists across team and the company with goal of upskilling and increasing analytics maturity across the organization. Collaborate to review code from other data scientists and govern best practices.
The Other Qualifications:
- You have a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience (4+ years) in the field of data science
- You have 5 years working in an environment delivering advanced analytics using Data Science techniques and tools including predictive, A/B, and machine learning analysis.
- You have familiarity with data processing in Databricks, Snowflake or other data platform.
- You have familiarity with packaged planning/analytic platforms such as o9 is a plus.
- You have experience managing consultants and internal resources to deliver advanced analytic solutions
- You have previous experience managing consultants and internal resources to deliver advanced analytic solutions
- You have a deep understanding of data and techniques to cleanse, harmonize, and evaluate business insights
- You are confident, diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
- You are a skilled negotiator focused on the client; your constant curiosity fosters your innovative style and you can equally execute ideas given to you
