The Headlines:   

In the role of Data Analyst working in Milwaukee, WI you will be part of the Data Integration and Management team.  The person will partner with business leaders to assess requirements, define strategy, and deliver solutions that meets the business’ needs including enterprise-wide data strategy, growing the data dictionary, and building a repository of the enterprise’s data.  The candidate will create and maintain entity-relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams, and data definition language code for building data structures. An ideal candidate will be able to effectively interact and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, and vendors while remaining data minded.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Ask questions and learn tasks effectively, show potential to grow into a data architect role
  • Design, develop, deploy, and transition solutions to address business requirements including deciding on integrated data designs across varying platforms from relational to big data
  • Construct a single and authoritative repository of the enterprise’s data through conceptual, logical, and physical data models, as well as data flow diagrams at various levels of detail
  • Engage and oversee consultants and third parties for the fulfillment of duties as well as perform hands-on work designing and developing solutions
  • Partner with the business to drive continuous improvement in data governance practices, leading the implementation including leading education programs around data governance and data quality
  • Build cross-functional relationships to understand data needs and help projects and agile teams deliver on those needs
  • Maintain and refine data modeling standards, best practices, and guidelines
  • Participate and be an advocate as the enterprise moves to next generation data tools, processes, and frameworks

 

The Other Qualifications:

  • You have at least four (4) years of work experience in IT
  • OR you have you have a bachelor’s degree and some work-related experience
  • You have a basic understanding of Information Technology and its function within a large organization
  • Having some exposure and understanding of ETL, data warehousing, data analytics, data architecture, business analysis, data governance, or Agile methodologies is a plus
  • You have a logical mind, and an interest in understanding and appreciating data
  • Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Work well under tight deadlines, managing multiple tasks and deliverables
  • You have a thirst for learning – you are always looking for ways to learn and help one another grow
