Crafted Highlights:   
The Technician - Malting performs as a member of a work team that works autonomously to achieve department goals. Responsible for the attainment of Safety, People, Quality, Financial, Service, and Productivity goals set for Golden Malting.  Responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, maintaining, efficiently operating assigned processing equipment. 

This role is responsible for the timely processing of materials in the Malthouse as well as building a positive team environment on the assigned schedule. They maintain a clean work environment, identifies quality exceptions and takes corrective action in a timely manner.  The work is strenuous in nature requiring lifting, pushing and pulling forces over 50 lbs on a regular basis.  The work environment is hot, cold, wet, noisy and dusty at times.  The use of chemical cleaning agents such as  caustic, bleach  and citric acid is common in the Malthouse. 

 

What You’ll Be Brewing:  

  • Maintain EH & S awareness at all times and compliance with safety training. 
  • Builds positive relationships with all team members and schedules, and supports conflict resolution between team members. 
  • Prioritize activities to support all areas of Malting while leveraging team members and with minimal or no supervision. 
  • Monitor and provide feedback on process areas to assure compliance and appropriate decision making within process/recipe parameters. 
  • Directly involved in communication and problem resolution with all support groups as required to perform work activities. 
  • Verify, correct, and distribute accurate inventory and accounting records, log sheets, scorecards and other shift paperwork. Reports & documents daily exceptions within appropriate time frames. 
  • Coordinate flow & track all production support materials, chemicals, etc. 
  • Performs shift tie-in functions with all shifts daily. 
  • Supports improvements in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, service, and people. 
  • Participates in job instruction, training and certification for temporaries and other Specialists in area. 
  • Execute & coordinate autonomous maintenance on equipment, strong mechanical aptitude and experience. Troubleshoots equipment, works with Malting Specialists to write work orders, obtains approvals and ensures completion work orders. 
  • Uses computer systems to perform tasks; SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word – desired . 
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology experience to support our WCSC2.0 initiatives.  
  • Performs other work as assigned 

 

Key Ingredients:

Education level and/or experience - High School or equivalent 

Skills and/or knowledge - Experience in Golden Malting and/or working knowledge of Malting operations

  • Understanding of utility systems, Malting process & KPIs, EH&S compliance, Malting process control parameters, Autonomous Maintenance, PC, HMI, MES and control systems, two-way radios, inventory control. 
  • The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of malting processes and will have experience working in food/beverage manufacturing.

Job Posting Hourly Rate: $30.85 - $36.80
