The Headlines

The Brewing/Finishing Specialist manages standardizing (blending beer) and filter operations. Beer is monitored to maintain specifications for dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, temperature, alcohol, and product microbiological stability. Additionally, Finishing FTE will be required to pull and pack H&K filters. Other responsibilities and expectations include cleaning and sterilizing systems and tanks, collecting samples and completing operator-based maintenance tasks.

  

The Responsibilities: 

  • Follow all department and company safety rules
  • The Finishing Team receives beer from MTR and delivers beer to C12 Filtration and the Government Cellar.  Finishing uses high pressure systems (steam, ammonia, CO2, beer, water) and a wide range of chemicals.  Various equipment including blenders, chillers, DE filters, sheet filters, bright beer tanks, pumps, and valves are used in the completion of tasks.  Use of computer, control systems, and handheld equipment includes Delta V, SAP, MES-PLC, MCMS, Process Book, Microsoft Office, Gehaltemeter, and ATP aid in producing quality products within specifications.
  • Quality at the Source and formal documentation is required for the sampling and analysis associated with micro and chemistry requirements.  Additionally, the Finishing Specialist is required to support all MolsonCoors, Golden Valley, Brewing Department and Team scorecard metrics and WCSC 2.0 initiatives
  • Responsibilities will include cleaning and sterilizing transfer lines, fill, and drop headers, tanks, CO2 and water systems, prime filters, collecting and reporting sample chemistry results, completing preventative maintenance tasks, pulling, and packing filters.
  • The Brewing Department/ Cold Side uses high pressure systems, steam, ammonia, CO2, and a wide range of chemicals. Various equipment including chillers, filtrox, schenk and H&K filters, bright beer tanks, pumps, manual taper seat and automatic Tuchenhagen valves are used in the completion of tasks. Use of computer control systems and handheld equipment including Delta V, SAP, MCMS, Process Book, Microsoft Office, Anton Paar alcohol analyzer, Gehaltemeter and Orbisphere DO and CO2 meters, BioTrace ATP and Daily Cleaning logs are critical in maintaining the quality products within specifications.
  • The specialist works in both hot/cold and wet environments, regular heavy lifting, a great deal of walking, operates forklifts and the use of stairs and man lifts.
  • Specialist contributes to workplace by performing all tasks in accordance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, GMP, lock out/Tag Out/Try Out safety rules, codes, policies, regulations and CSE policies. Supports maintenance and contractors in all planned and break down work.
  • Specialist works alone on assigned weekly task, must be self-motivated, work in a team environment, respond to nonconformance’s, escalate appropriately, make responsible decisions, offering solutions and communicating results when confronted with exceptions without supervision.
  • Specialist must be familiar with GMP, HACCP, and SQF practices. Must be familiar with MolsonCoors WCSC 2.0 and its philosophies.
     

The Other Qualifications: 

  • Required education: High School diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated understanding of flow dynamics, volume control in a closed system or experience in a food/beverage plant or other production environment.
  • Must have an excellent safety record and be able to regularly lift over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft office applications and have capability to learn several different computer applications, SAP, PLC, Delta V, MCMS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production upsets and issues and escalate as necessary.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
