Crafted Highlights:

In the role of Sr. Learning & Development Specialist (Plant) you will be part of the Learning & Development team at our Rocky Mountain Metal Container Can Plant. This role will be onsite five days per week.  You are responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the plant's annual education and training learning plan(s). You are the main point of contact to consistently apply established learning and development principles and current best approaches.

As a member of the Leader Pillar, you are the critical interface to drive a consistent, plant-wide learning approach and strategy within budget.

 

What You’ll Be Brewing: 

  • Leverage individual development plans to facilitate learning for all employees in the plant.
  • Work with the Learning and Development Manager to execute the Golden Valley Education and Training Pillar and Learning & Development Plan.
  • Develop a talent planning strategy for hourly and salaried employees to enhance organizational success. 
  • Collaborate with Golden Valley and Corporate Learning and Development personnel and local subject matter experts on content development for training initiatives.
  • Execute the Education and Training Pillar Standard Work Processes for the plant and ensure the effectiveness of training initiatives is tracked and measured.
  • Deliver training as needed/assigned.
  • In collaboration with plant leadership and key stakeholders, provide input to and champion the overall learning strategy for the plant as guided by the Golden Valley strategy.
  • Provide input to the plant's annual Learning and Development plan, including monitoring and initiating payment processes of the Learning and Development budget for the plant.
  • Through learning needs analysis, determine plant training needs and design specific materials as needed.
  • Capture, share, and implement education and training current best approaches in processes and efficiencies via communication with the World Class Supply Chain and enterprise learning and development community.  Facilitate implementation of Current Best Approaches at the plant level.
  • Lead and manage the Education & Training Pillar progression for the site through active use of Standard Work Process, strategic management of the SCAP process, and over all Pillar health.
  • Develop or ensure the development of Standard Operating Procedures, including the ongoing evolution of the procedures to accommodate changes for all positions in assigned areas.
  • Ensure the processes established for intellectual knowledge transfer, including the onboarding program, are followed for the plant.
  • This role manages a team of 2-4 hourly direct reports in support of developing and executing L&D goals and plans.
  • Ensure the team is focused, well-trained for delivering expected business results while living the company values and demonstrating these in every day behavior.

 

Key Ingredients: 

  • Experience with adult learning methodologies is preferred.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, World-Class principles, and integrated work systems initiatives preferred.
  • Familiarity with Education and Training Pillar, skills attainment and qualification process preferred
  • Model strong people skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to function strategically and tactically regarding a short and long term training plan to eliminate loss by building employee capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to translate and simplify complex principles to ensure smooth transfer across the organization.
  • Strong communication and training facilitation skills
  • Change management skills
  • Experience with adult learning methodologies is preferred.

Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings: $95,700.00 - $125,600.00 (posting salary range) + 10target short term incentive + $23,000 on average spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives and EAP + paid time off (including holidays, vacation days and sick days).
