The Headlines:  

  • The Industrial Maintenance Technician must have the necessary experience, aptitude, and education to perform electrical duties such as repairs, set-up, adjustment, troubleshooting, P.M. inspections, replacements and overhaul to make equipment improvements and repairs as necessary. Proficient with PLC’s, VFD’s, electrical controls, relay logic and software. Advanced Computer skills required. Must meet requirements to be a Qualified Electrical Worker for this role. This position also requires mechanical aptitude and experience. Performing minor mechanical maintenance and repairs will be a routine requirement of this position in addition to electrical and controls knowledge and skills.. 

  • Requires troubleshooting electrical systems using ladder logic, electrical prints and/or schematics. Responsible for electrical systems under 600 volts for all plant assets.  

  • Works as an Electrician and Mechanic in widely skilled craft role. Assists in the training of new employees and trainees. Performs all work in a safe manner demonstrating proper use of safety equipment and PPE at all times. Requires interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with all teams across the organization. 

   

The Responsibilities:  

  • Safe use and care of all hand/power tools and shop equipment (e.g. grinders, drills, drill presses, saws, belt sanders, rigging and lifting devices (e.g. slings, chain-falls, Come-Alongs, block and tackle, and jacks), etc.) 

  • Awareness of safety concerns while working around or near high speed equipment, mobile equipment and   temperature extremes. 

  • Proficient with electrical controls, associated equipment, logic, replacement and set-up of VFDs, PLCs, HMIs etc. 

  • Reading, interpreting, and "red-lining" mechanical, electrical and P&ID prints. 

  • Perform Lock Out, Tag Out and Try Out of equipment, NFPA 70e compliant entry of electrical panels.  

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance (lubrication, UE, vibration, IR etc.) and reliability principles. 

  • Knowledge and skills to maintain and perform minor repairs to production equipment, power transmission devices and rotating equipment (e.g. gears, gearboxes, bearings, seals, conveyors, palletizers, strappers, stretch wrappers, inspection equipment etc). 

  • Equipment adjustments, scale calibration, Thermography, Ultrasound and laser alignment  

  • Computer skills as follows: Windows, MS Office, MS Outlook, and SAP. 

  • Candidates need to be proficient in controls software and programming., Troubleshooting and diagnostic repair of controls systems such as: PLC5, SLC500, ControlLogix, Siemens, Profibus, Intellution iFix, Panel View software, VFD’s of various manufactures, relay logic and controls wiring.  

  • Ability to learn and participate in predictive maintenance technologies including vibration, balance, lubrication and ultrasonic data collection and basic analysis. 

  • Candidate must be able to work in hot areas, dusty areas, cold areas, high places, and outdoors in all types of weather. 

  • Ability to work overtime and any shift as required. 

 

Additional desired skills: 

- Medium Voltage (Up to 13K Volts) 

- HVAC Troubleshooting skills 

- Mobile equipment maintenance (forklifts & loaders) 

- Plumbing knowledge including pipefitting 

- Welding (Stick, TIG, MIG) 

- Fabrication 

  

The Other Qualifications:  

  • Industrial apprenticeship program, technical training and/or military training. 

  • Must hold certificate of competency in applicable field(s). Associates degree in related studies a plus 

  • Work experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment required. Military experience in a technical field will be considered 

  • Must demonstrate skills in the following: interpersonal relationships, active listening, team building, communication, problem solving, planning, organizing, scheduling, and negotiating with a continuous improvement focus. 

  • Must possess self-control, initiative, patience, influence, and a positive attitude. 

  • Must be able to receive and give constructive criticism 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older 

  • HS diploma or GED required. 

  • Industrial Journeyman level and/or on-the-job experience in a heavy industrial, high-speed production Electrical/electronic/controls field.  

  • Must be experienced to work safely with power up to and including 480 volts. 

  • This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude in addition to electrical experience to be effective in this role.

Job Posting Hourly Rate: $38.25
