The Headlines:
In the role of Instrumentation Controls Electrician, you will perform electrical, electrical controls, instrumentation and instrumentation control duties and some mechanical duties such as set-up, adjustment, calibrate, tune, and troubleshoot, Preventative Maintenance inspections and Overhaul. Acts as a resource for the maintenance team when electrical/control escalation triggers occur - prior to calling in a Manufacturing Engineering Technician

The Responsibilities:

  • Follow all department and company safety rules
  • Electrical Craft Work: Performs set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, replacement and programming of electrical equipment with some minor mechanical following Asset CARE methodology.
  • Dismantle, inspect and rebuild electrical assemblies to insure conformance to specifications or production requirements.
  • Instrument Tech Craft Work: Performs set-up, adjustment, Calibrations, ranging, PID control, programming and troubleshooting of instrumentation equipment, including measurement equipment. Must be proficient and safe in the use of the following: test instruments (volt/ohm multi-meters, clamp-on amp meters, meggars transducers and oscilloscopes. Required experience with VFD’s, servo controls and HMI’s. Must have experience with the following PLC platforms:   PLC5, RSLogix 5000, MicroLogix and SLC500. Preferred exposure with Device Net, Control Net, Ethernet, Sercos, DH+ and RIO communication protocol’s.
  • Electrical / Instrument Tech Craft Additions:  Contributes to a work place by performing all tasks in accordance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out safety rules, codes policies and regulations and Confined Space Entry policies.   Must also follow waste disposal and accumulation requirements as set out by the HAZMAT policy.   Contributes to customer satisfaction.   Works as a self-motivated individual with minimal supervision.    Works to Design out Maintenance where applicable as well as driving towards improving equipment reliability through proper maintenance procedures.   Works to reduce unplanned downtime by working with the Asset CARE Planners to make necessary improvements in equipment.   Uses data and specific procedures to determine Root-cause failure and strives to correct the problem versus the symptom.   Documents all work in CMMS – SAP on a timely basis.
  • Shift: Rotating 4x4

 

The Other Qualifications:

  • Minimum HS diploma or GED required. CCST Level II or equivalent desired.
  • Industrial Journeyman level and/or on-the-job experience with heavy industrial Electrical, Electrical Controls, Instrumentation and PLC’s.
  • Must be proficient troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC programs and processor-based program/diagnostic panels.
  • Experience with Delta V or similar distributive control systems preferred.
  • Experienced in the safe use of the following: test instruments (volt/ohm multi-meters, clamp-on amp meters, meggers, transducers, oscilloscopes), hand tools specific to electrical/electronic/controls field as well as mechanical hand tools.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematics and PLC ladder logic along with the experience to locate and retrieve electric prints and programs using Team Center

Job Posting Hourly Rate: $42.26 - $45.98
