The Headlines:  
In the role of Malt / Barley Lab Technician working in Golden, CO, you will be part of the Malting Department.  You will perform a variety of basic chemical and physical analyses on barley, malt, and in-process grain.

 

This position reports to the Quality Manager and works closely with a variety of operational business units.

 

The Responsibilities: 
•    Interpret, evaluate, and report the analytical data to the Quality Manager and/or Technical Maltster for use in monitoring statistical process control and for making process changes
•    Apply analytical methods and malt/barley knowledge to maintaining lab instrument capability and reliability
•    Responsible for providing reliable and accurate data to the research and development group through analysis of micromalt samples and malt produced by the lab

 

The Other Qualifications:
•    Possess a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cereal Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Agronomy, Chemical Engineering)
•    Possess a proven track record of achievement in a laboratory with at least 2 years of experience in quality related processes
•    You have basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrument maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting
•    You are familiar with basic principles of the malting process
•    You have a flexible schedule and are able to work a rotating shift operation, weekends, and holidays as necessary to support production requirements

Job Posting Grade: 8

Job Posting Salary Range: $61,200 - $88,000
