Crafted Highlights:
The Sr Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency by implementing lean methodologies and data-driven strategies. The Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist will work cross-functionally utilizing data to develop and implement new processes.
This position reports to the Operations Director.
What You'll Deliver:
- Project Management (30%)
- Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive projects that enhance cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with managers to allocate resources effectively and streamline project execution.
- Deliver Clear Project Reporting: Provide timely updates, performance metrics, and actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Facilitate Effective Communication: Organize and lead meetings with internal teams.
- Evaluate Feasibility: Analyze procedures, specifications, and proposals to determine project viability and impact.
- Process Improvement (30%)
- Map and Optimize Processes: Transition workflows from current state to future state and oversee implementation of improvements.
- Coach and Mentor Teams: Guide employees in applying Lean tools and root cause analysis techniques (e.g., Fishbone, 5 Whys) to solve problems and sustain improvements.
- Champion Operational Excellence: Conduct regular 5S audits and management reviews to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement and ownership of improvement initiatives
- Optimize Vertique Warehouse Automation: Identify opportunities to improve Vertique system performance, streamline workflows, and maximize automation efficiency.
- Data Analysis (30%)
- Perform detailed workflow and performance analysis across all warehouse processes, including replenishment, repack, returned product handling, trailer loading/unloading, and staging, to identify efficiency gaps.
- Analyze equipment utilization and develop process flow mapping to uncover bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
- Create, document, and communicate standardized procedures, ensuring effective training and adoption across teams.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to support gap analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain robust data management and reporting systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for ongoing operational analysis.
- Safety (10%)
- Model and reinforce safe behaviors, promoting the philosophy that “all injuries are preventable.”
- Use data-driven insights to identify patterns, trends, and recurring issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Recommend process improvements and ergonomic solutions to enhance employee safety and compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
Key Ingredients:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or other related field required
- 0-2 years of experience working in a warehouse environment
- Ability to quickly learn/use additional computer programs (i.e., Excel), and software including VIP, VPS and web-based applications
- Ability to effectively present information to different audiences
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk in a warehouse environment, which includes refrigerated space
- Position occasionally requires lifting and/or moving up to 165 pounds
- Other duties as assigned
