Coors Distributing Company (CDC) is one of the nation’s leading beer distributors based out of Denver, CO. We are the critical link between our brewery suppliers that produce the beer and the retail outlets where they are sold, as well as the restaurants and bars where they are consumed. We were founded in 1971 and became a MillerCoors LLC in 2008 as part of the joint venture between Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing Company, and we remain the only company owned distributor for Molson Coors Beverage Company. Major brand acquisitions occurred in January of 2010 making Coors Distributing Company one of the top 25 largest beer distributors in the country with over 30 suppliers, roughly 14 million cases per year, and nearly 400 employees.

The Headlines:
In the role of Procurement Manager working in Denver, Colorado, you will oversee all aspects of the beer and indirect ordering and purchasing processes, including forecasting weekly/monthly sales, maintaining proper days of inventory, providing updates on supplier overage and out of stock issues. This role is also responsible for delivering the best value across a range of purchasing requests while also protecting CDC’s risk and financial exposure and ensuring legal/company compliance.

This position has 3 direct reports and reports to the Controller.

The Responsibilities:

  1. Performance & Talent Management (20%)
    1. Responsible for all people management-related processes, including staffing, performance management and discipline, time system management, communications/team meetings, etc. for their team
  2. Procurement Leadership & Product Management (40%)
    1. Lead development, implementation, and communication of purchasing processes, policies, and procedures for CDC
    2. Direct and coordinate procurement of $325M in product, goods and services and oversee timely execution of requisitions
    3. Administrator for corporate card provider procurement, T&E cards account and car reimbursement programs
    4. Responsible for partnering with Marketing and Sales leaders to understand needs of the business and upcoming promotions, holidays and events
    5. Responsible for S&OP meeting, including recommendations for SKU rationalization and new product introductions
    6. Responsible for SKU rationalization efforts in identifying trends and recommend solutions to reduce/eliminate underperforming skus, in conjunction with Brand Management
    7. Responsible for partnering with inventory/warehouse team and leads bi-annual physical inventories including reconciliations and root cause analysis on large variances
  3. Inventory Management (30%)
    1. Responsible for driving inventory accuracy and working with the Inventory/Warehouse team to ensure proactive management of on-hand inventories, with emphasis on understanding potential overages, out-of-stocks, date issues or shortages that need attention
    2. Provide inventory analysis and insights
  4. Compliance & Quality Assurance (10%)
    1. Primary interface with Molson Coors Procurement / Legal to ensure purchase order and contract language complies with company policy and risk management guidelines
    2. Ensures procurement processes follow signature authorization matrix and ensure all goods and services have a 3-way match
    3. Ensures CDC compliance with supplier contractual obligations on required days of inventory
    4. Responsible for the maintenance, adherence to, coordination and communication of all aspects of Supplier Quality Assurance programs in accordance with supplier policies
  5. Other
    1. Partners with IT on appropriate system enhancements to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity
    2. Other duties as assigned

 

The Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, or other related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant Supply Chain experience
  • Highly skilled with technology with the ability to translate into business analysis and results
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks at the same time
  • Ability to interpret business results and represent the data graphically or in presentation format for review by company leaders
  • Must be detail oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Ability to responsibly manage and maintain confidential and/or sensitive information
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside customers and vendors
  • Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office and Outlook software; expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with strong initiative
  • Desire to continuously learn, develop and create efficiencies and process improvements

Job Posting Salary Range: (US/Colorado) $87,500 - $125,800
