Coors Distributing Company (CDC) is one of the nation’s leading beer distributors based out of Denver, CO. We are the critical link between our brewery suppliers that produce the beer and the retail outlets where they are sold, as well as the restaurants and bars where they are consumed. We were founded in 1971 and became a MillerCoors LLC in 2008 as part of the joint venture between Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing Company, and we remain the only company owned distributor for Molson Coors Beverage Company. Major brand acquisitions occurred in January of 2010 making Coors Distributing Company one of the top 25 largest beer distributors in the country with over 30 suppliers, roughly 14 million cases per year, and nearly 400 employees.  

The Headlines:    
In the role of Inbound and Receiving Supervisor, working in Denver, Colorado you will be is responsible for the Leadership and Development of twelve direct reports to ensure quality and efficient completion of tasks within each job function.  The Inbound and Receiving supervisor is also responsible for working cross functionally with other departments within CDC to develop and sustain receiving, inventory and material handling processes.


This position reports to the Warehouse Manager. 

The Responsibilities: 

  1. Performance & Talent Management (40%)
    1. Responsible for all people management-related processes, including staffing, performance management and discipline, time system management, communications/team meetings, etc. for the assigned team.
    2. Must have daily team meetings and monthly 1x1’s around goals and current performance.
    3. Communicate changes to company policies and procedures.
    4. Document coaching conversations, performance or behavioral issues, attendance concerns, etc.… after verbally communicating with employees.
    5. Provide feedback and coaching to individuals on career paths, opportunities within and how they can continue to build capability and skills to achieve their personal goals.

 

  1. Inbound/Receiving Strategy (30%)
    1. Responsible for developing and executing Inbound Key Performance Indicators.
    2. Responsible for managing free space within CDC, and finding solutions when space is limited.
    3. Responsible for managing Labor and OT budgets for direct reports.
    4. Manage employee start times to ensure max productivity.
    5. Responsible for managing assigned P&L
    6. Effectively manage the daily schedule for deliveries to CDC
    7. Manage the Inbound Receiving Process and Outbound Dunnage Return Process.
    8. Responsible for ensuring inbound appointments are tracked to reduce detention fees.

 

  1. Compliance & Safety Leadership (20%)
    1. Lead safe behaviors by leading by example, sharing “all injuries are preventable” philosophies, and identifying risky behaviors while performing task observations with individuals on team. Address unsafe behaviors and utilize performance management tools to coach, correct, and manage. 
    2. Address patterns, trends, and multiple occurrences through use of corrective action process.
    3. Identify process improvements to ensure the safety of employees while managing budget.
    4. Investigate incidents and complete Management Safety Analysis in a timely fashion.

 

  1. Quality Management (10%)
    1. Entry and tracking of data for efficiency/accuracy reporting.
    2. Ensure all inbound load temps are properly documented.
    3. Consistently hold individuals accountable for performance concerns with non-rotated beer, old beer and/or breakage, incorrect inventory movements/receipts. 
    4. Communicate expectations and provide coaching when issues arise, and additional training is required.
       
  2.  Other
    1. May assist with daily shift duties.
    2. Other duties as assigned.

 

The Other Qualifications: 

  • Position requires a high school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Logistics or Business Management is preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse experience
  • Position requires 1-4 years of prior leadership experience. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Must possess the ability to solve problems without guidance, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proficient in basic computer skills (Windows office); previous experience with VIP preferred.
  • Employee must be able to repeatedly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally handle kegs weighing up to 165 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: Position requires physical presence within CDC. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and/or walk in a warehouse environment, which includes refrigerated space.

Job Posting Salary Range: (US/Colorado) $57,400 - $82,600
