In the role of Facilities Maintenance Technician I, working in Denver, CO you will be part of the maintenance team. You will be responsible for inspection, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs for all warehouse equipment. Responsibilities also include facility repairs as needed. This position requires mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting abilities to keep the 280,000 sqft. distribution facility operational.  Strong communication skills are required.   

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and works closely with our Operations team.  

Maintenance Technician Schedule: 

The CDC maintenance team provides 24-hour maintenance coverage and support for sorting and packaging equipment. Each Technician will be assigned a core shift, AM or PM. Flexibility for both start and end time is required for business needs. Infrequent weekend work may be assigned as needed for some PM items. Wage starts at $33.25/hr.  

 

What You’ll Deliver:  

Equipment Maintenance 

  • Performs maintenance work as a self-motivated technician with minimal supervision. 

  • Completes equipment inspections to ensure all systems are operating properly. 

  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled. 

  • Immediate troubleshooting and repair of any critical equipment. 

  • Palletizing equipment, conveyors, electrical or mechanical needs. 

  • Fabrication work as required. 

  • Works under stringent demand for time sensitive repairs, planned shutdowns, emergency shutdowns, and fast track project schedules. 

  • Performs all tasks related to daily maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuild work, immediate breakdowns, production operations support, equipment modifications, and improvement projects.  

  • Provides support to the Maintenance Manager by completing quality work in an efficient manner.  

  • Actively communicates with the Maintenance Manager, Technicians and Production Supervisors. 

Facility Maintenance 

  • Performs maintenance inspections and repairs for the distribution facility as needed. 

  • Immediate repair of any emergency facility equipment as needed. 

  • Proactively provides preventative maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.  

  • Assists in planned and unplanned downtime projects, shutdowns, and emergency work.  

Safety & Compliance 

  • Contributes to a safe workplace by performing all tasks in accordance with NFPA 70E Standards, OSHA, EPA, FDA, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out, Including all CDC codes, policies and regulations. 

Other Responsibilities 

  • Helps maintain working inventories and of all repair parts and supplies. 

  • Communicates effectively with other technicians electronically. 

  • Documents all work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, and parts in CMMS program. 

  • Monitor / escort onsite contractors.   

 

Key Ingredients:  

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience maintenance or similar field. 

  • Must have the necessary experience, technical skills, aptitude, and education to perform mechanical and electrical duties as required. To include equipment disassembly, equipment rebuilds, preventive maintenance, immediate repairs, and troubleshooting.     

  • Mechanical and Electrical experience is ideal.  

  • Automation and fabrication skills preferred.  

  • Scissor lift, boom lift, forklift experience preferred.   

  • Prefer experience with NFPA 70E guidelines, OSHA regulations and International Building Code. 

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. 

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work alone without direct supervision. 

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with maintenance team and management. 

  • Computer skills preferred - MS Office, AutoCAD, and CMMS experience. 

  • Must possess basic math skills and verbal and written English language skills, and organizational skills. 

  • Must be eager and willing to learn new skills and processes. Able to take direction from other technicians. The incumbent must be motivated to obtain training needed to perform new maintenance tasks. 

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required; associate degree or vocational education preferred.
