Crafted Highlights:
The Delivery Manager has overall responsibility for the safe, efficient, and technology enabled delivery of product to retail locations. This role is a key cultural leader within the organization, responsible for building an engaged, appreciated, and high performing delivery team. Additionally, this role partners with the Sales Leadership team to drive strategic initiatives that deliver best in class service to our customer base while advancing CDC’s delivery capabilities through innovation and continuous improvement.

This position reports to the Operations Director.

What You'll Deliver: 
 

Performance, Culture & Talent Management (40%)

  • Responsible for the direct management of 9 direct reports. This role also has indirect leadership and oversight for 111 delivery personnel (Drivers, Hot Shots, Helpers, Trainers).
  • Overarching responsibility to ensure the delivery team is adequately staffed and people processes are executed according to company expectations and standards.
  • Builds and sustains a positive, inclusive culture where drivers feel valued, supported, and connected to CDC’s mission.
  • Develops and implements driver engagement and recognition programs to improve morale, retention, and overall employee experience.
  • Conducts regular ride along, field visits, and listening sessions to maintain strong relationships with drivers and supervisors.
  • Constantly strives to improve the delivery strategy as the market changes and evolves.
  • Works with Senior Leadership on new initiatives, new delivery methods, and other go to market strategies.
  • Responsible for overall performance management and talent management strategies within the delivery department, including but not limited to:
    • Execution of incentive programs, performance scorecards, and performance standards/processes in partnership with Human Resources.
    • Oversight of talent management processes, including succession planning, talent profiles, and execution of CDC’s talent management strategy.
    • Creation and execution of performance management standards of excellence, ensuring consistency and communication for the department.
  • Leads change management efforts as new systems, technologies, and processes are introduced to the delivery team.

 

 

Delivery Strategy, Technology & Operational Excellence (40%)

  • Works directly with peers in Sales, Finance, and HR to ensure development and execution of the go‑to‑market strategy.
  • Partners with Warehouse, Logistics, Sales Management, and Accounting to ensure the most accurate and efficient loading and routing of people and assets in the delivery of product to the market.
  • Responsible for managing an operating budget totaling in excess of $15 million.
  • Responsible for execution of overall CDC routing strategy, in partnership with Logistics, Sales and Operations leaders.
  • Leads the adoption and optimization of delivery technologies, including routing software, telematics, ELD systems, and digital driver tools.
  • Uses data and analytics to drive improvements in route efficiency, cost per case, service levels, and driver experience.
  • Collaborates with Concessions Sales Manager on successful execution of concessions/special events, leading the operational execution for the operations team.
  • Assists Operations Director with special projects focused on operational excellence. Specific projects may include go‑to‑market strategies, service policies, and partnering with customers on new delivery technologies.
  • Develop and implement process changes to improve the overall safety of employees and efficiency of the delivery process.
  • Partners with Sales to ensure quality product in market.

 


Compliance & Safety Leadership (20%)

  • Ensures compliance with all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.), FMCSA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations, and ensures all employees receive proper training on related policies and procedures.
  • Leads safe behaviors by leading by example, sharing the “all injuries are preventable” mindset, and identifying at‑risk behaviors. Addresses unsafe behaviors and utilizes performance management tools to coach, correct, and manage.
  • Responsible for the safety and well‑being of all employees on the team as well as the safekeeping of all assets within area of responsibility.
  • Ensures compliance with ELD and telematics requirements across the delivery fleet.
  • Ensures delivery team compliance with all CDC Policies and Procedures.
  • Partners with Training Manager to drive quality execution and process for the delivery department in alignment with overall CDC quality strategy in compliance with supplier contracts and CDC expectations.

 

 

Key Ingredients:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field is required.
  • 5–7 years prior experience in Operations management (Manager/Supervisory level) in a consumer product distribution environment, preferably in the beverage industry; prior experience as a Delivery Driver strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and Federal laws associated with the sale and delivery of regulated products.
  • Experience with routing, telematics, fleet management, or delivery technology platforms preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and drive decisions.
  • Valid Colorado Class A driver’s license: MVR must fall within CDC Pre‑Employment Background Screening Guidelines.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early, late, and occasional weekends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as retailers.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • This position will generally require a physical presence within CDC, however it may require driving and working in all types of weather conditions, Delivery locations may include tight storage areas, varying temperatures and require taking product up or down stairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings: $110,100.00 - $144,500.00 (posting salary range) + 15target short term incentive + $23,000 on average spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives and EAP + paid time off (including holidays, vacation days and sick days).
