The Headlines:
In the role of Strategy Analyst based in Chicago, Illinois, you will be a part of the Strategy Team supporting enterprise Long Range Planning. This position will report to the Director of Strategy with visibility to the Chief Strategy Officer.
The Strategy Analyst is the analytical engine for the Strategy Team, providing key data insights to help mold and drive Molson Coors’ ambition to grow topline revenue as we transform into a beverage company. In this role, you will work with several stakeholders with a primary focus on the Emerging Growth BU. The Strategy Analyst will ensure strategic plans are driven by data, deliver financial commitments, and align with Molson Coors’ core capabilities. The analyst wil help the Strategy Team and Emerging Growth leaders gain a deeper undersatnding of the non-alcholic, wine and spirits, and cannabis infused beverage segments.
The Responsibilities:
• Conduct market assessment of current dynamics /emerging trends and develop industry estimates / forecasts using various incomplete data sources, to support new verticals and business opportunities for Molson Coors
• Provide external and internal data points to inform / track progress against Long Range Plan commitments
• Develop standard reporting for Emerging Growth division, including but not limited to scorecards, dashboards, and macro trends
• Perform competitive analysis of other CPG to benchmark MCBC performance vs. industry, informing Leadership Team on potential risk/opportunities
• Formulate investment recommendations, sizing up revenue and profit opportunities based on research
• Develop presentations to communicate insights, enabling Strategy Director to facilitate data driven conversations with Emerging Growth Leadership Team
• Leads conversations with key leadership, requiring advance communication skills to navigate multiple stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance)
• Leverage analyst and research reports to provide thought leadership and future trends for Strategy and Emerging Growth teams
The Other Qualifications:
• 3+ years experience as a Business or Financial Analyst in a Fortune 500 company (preferably CPG,) investment bank, consulting firm, transaction advisory firm, or market information/research company (ACNielsen/IRI) (SPINS data knowledge is a plus)
• Excellent spreadsheet skills (functions/macros/VBA) and good relational database management skills(e.g. Access, enterprise databases) and the confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights
• Demonstrates insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts to provide practical counsel to business unit partners and to help drive business results
• Excellent communicator across all channels (written/verbal)
• Executive level mindset and ability to convey key decision points to senior leaders
