The Headlines: 

The Manager, Commercial Planning is responsible for designing, developing, and leading execution of significant portions of the Molson Coors US integrated commercial planning process and ensuring that the resulting plans support the company strategy, improve market execution and drive business results.  This position reports to the Director of Commercial Planning and is located in Chicago, IL.
The integrated commercial planning process encompasses financial and annual plans for brands, channels, chains, regions, management units, and distributors as well as the processes and tools for allocating investment, setting volume and distribution targets, and ensuring tight integration and transparency of plans across the commercial function.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide Strategic Direction to planning participants in the Commercial functions and work to gain Leadership Alignment concerning key strategic and resource allocation choices 
  • Ensure Commercial Plan integration and handoffs across key Molson Coors functions (commercial, finance) and ancillary functions (demand planning, corporate responsibilities) 
  • Provide process training, coaching, and thought leadership for marketing and field teams during their respective planning periods 
  • Design the agenda and participate in key planning meetings throughout the process 
  • Provide project management for the commercial planning processes, tools, and execution, with a focus on defined timelines and deliverables 
  • Participate and/or lead specific areas of the commercial planning systems evolution  


The Qualifications 

  • Minimum 5 years professional experience 
  • Experience using, maintaining, or building models in Anaplan preferred 
  • Experience successfully working in and leading functional and cross-functional teams, especially with sales force and retailers 
  • High level of proficiency with Excel 
  • Preferred candidates have a financial or business management background, with experience supporting finance, strategy, and budgeting for the sales / marketing division (preferably CPG). 
  • Bachelors degree OR equivalent experience   
  • Uses a disciplined problem solving approach. 
  • Strong ability to analyze data from a variety of sources, recognize patterns, generate alternative solutions, identify potential unintended consequences, and recommend the best solution 
  • Strong business acumen & analytical skills, with the ability to combine/leverage marketing, finance, strategy, statistics, forecasting, and pricing disciplines into one role. 
  • Strong ability to work in cross-functional team environments and to collaboratively build agreement on vision / approach. 
  • A natural tendency towards pragmatism and speed. 
  • Resourceful; able to quickly define and implement a change in approach to meet business needs, and still address stated priorities. 
  • Enjoys working hard and looks for challenges. Able to act and react with speed even if limited information is available. Not afraid to take charge of a situation when trouble comes; can overcome resistance and take unpopular stands when necessary. 
  • Express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively; listens to and responds appropriately to others. 
  • You demonstrate sound judgement and decision making and have organizational skills necessary to complete a large volume of work timely and accurately.
