Here’s to crafting careers and creating new legacies.
Crafted Highlights:
At Molson Coors, we’re committed to leading the way in digital transformation. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to step into a crucial role focused on transforming raw data into strategic business insights for our rapidly evolving B2B eCommerce space. This individual will be a key driver in shaping our future reporting and data consumption strategy.
What You’ll Be Brewing:
This role is primarily focused on defining what should be measured and ensuring the underlying data foundation supports it, regardless of the front-end tool. You will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for analytics related to our B2B eCommerce channels, specifically our third-party online ordering portals.
- Reporting Strategy & Insight Generation (60%): You will be the primary analytics liaison for our eCommerce business teams, focused on maximizing the value of our analytical assets. This includes:
- Identifying the most compelling and high-value Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), researching best practices, and establishing clear, consistent, and documented business definitions for all core eCommerce metrics.
- Consulting with non-technical business stakeholders to understand their core strategic questions and translating these needs into formal reporting requirements and data model specifications.
- Proactively identifying areas from reports that require deeper investigation and taking the initiative to conduct ad hoc analyses or deep dives outside the visualization layer, primarily using Databricks.
- While we currently use Power BI, you will be responsible for utilizing existing reports, identifying pain points, and driving a strategy for optimization.
- Data Modeling & BI Platform Strategy (30%): You will own the analytical semantic layer and help chart the future direction of our BI architecture.
- Directly querying our data platform (hosted in Databricks) using SQL to prototype new metrics, validate data, and conduct deep-dive analyses.
- Designing and building high-performance Semantic Models/Datasets (currently in Power BI, but agnostic to the underlying technology) that serve as the single source of truth for critical business reporting.
- Exploring and defining the feasibility of new BI solutions, including assisting the team in figuring out the requirements and implementation of a centralized metrics layer, such as the Databricks BI solution or an equivalent framework.
- You will be an integral part of an Agile Scrum Team that includes third-party resources (specifically from Accenture). Your business expertise will be essential in informing the backlog and guiding the work of the development teams, ensuring technical delivery aligns perfectly with business needs.
- Data Storytelling & Consulting (10%): You will not just present data—you will craft narratives.
- Proactively extract strategic insights from reporting and data models to consult with the business, challenging assumptions, and guiding investment decisions.
- Present complex data and technical findings to senior leadership and non-technical audiences in a clear, compelling, and concise manner.
Key Ingredients:
- 4+ years of experience in an analytically driven role (e.g., Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Technical Business Analyst).
- Expert SQL Skills: Ability to write and optimize complex queries for data extraction and exploration in platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, or similar data warehouses, necessary for conducting deep-dive analyses.
- Strong Semantic Modeling Experience: Demonstrated ability to design, build, and optimize complex analytical data models/datasets, with proficiency in Power BI and DAX currently required.
- Agile Methodology Experience: Understanding of the Scrum framework and experience working with development teams to translate business requirements into user stories and technical tasks.
- Business Acumen & Consulting: Proven ability to quickly become a Subject Matter Expert in a specific business domain (ideally eCommerce or B2B operations) and to consult effectively with non-technical business stakeholders.
- The Power of Storytelling: A track record of transforming data into a compelling narrative and presentation that drives action and decision-making.
- Technically Flexible & Strategically Driven: You understand that reporting tools are just a means to an end. You are excited by the challenge of defining a best-in-class metrics architecture and influencing the choice of future BI platforms.
- A Self-Starter and Business Learner: You are intellectually curious, dive into the business process, and relentlessly pursue the "why" behind the numbers, often necessitating a deep-dive outside the standard reporting environment.
- A Bridge-Builder & Guide: You are comfortable leading the functional requirements within a development team, ensuring the technical deliverables meet the business needs and maintain data integrity.
