Your Purpose
As our Procurement Category Director - Indirects (EMEA APAC), you' ll ensure that all category strategies under your leadership meet the divisional cost, quality, delivery and agreed ESG targets as per the Divisional Procurement strategy and commitments.
The role will directly report into the Procurement Strategy Director and will lead/people manage assigned Category Leaders.
To succeed you'll in-sync with the Regional Procurement Directors and their wider teams as well as the wider divisional procurement leadership team, ensuring that challenging strategies are set but ensure these are balanced these against regional requirements and VOP targets.
Internally, you'll focus on building key relationships across the EMEA APAC division and with counterparts in North America to ensure divisional and global procurement synergy is developed wherever possible. Externally, you will need to lead and negotiate key commercial contracts for major suppliers/projects across the division in excess of €350m and will be required to operate to MD/CEO level externally. You will also be accountable for building top to top relationships and governance models with key suppliers in their category areas.
This is a leadership role in the Divisional Procurement Structure and will regularly present at regional/divisional sourcing and category review boards, business wide reviews, DLT/RLT to deliver our business requirements and ensure alignment to category plans.
As a senior leader in the procurement team the role will be expected to contribute cross category, role model values and lead for EMEA APAC and Global synergy and best practice.
This role could be based in any of our legal entities including: Serbia (Beograd), Bulgaria (Sofia), Romania (Bucharest), Hugary (Budapest), Czech Republic (Prague) and the UK (remote).
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for the development and overseeing execution of multiple category strategies for assigned major divisional category of spend across EMEA APAC, ensuring strategic plans hit our LRP and procurement commitments across cost, quality, delivery, VOP, supply assurance, ESG and innovation targets.
- Lead and manage assigned Category Leaders through a clear development and engagement plan linked to the Divisional Procurement Strategy. Ensure refreshed training and procurement best practices are in place, sharing with North American counterparts.
- Personally role model synergy behaviours by challenging all areas of spend in a strategic way for their category area, building clear plans together with the regional procurement directors, their teams and wider business leadership teams. Lead risk management and supply assurance (including divisional MSA execution) for their categories.
- Build strong relationships across divisional stakeholder groups in particular the Regional Procurement Directors, Quality & VOP Director, Legal and teams as well as DLT -1/2 RLT-1/2 teams to support and drive the procurement agenda forward.
- Accountable for major divisional supplier/partner negotiations, supplier relationships, performance monitoring, contract management and arrangements to MD/CEO level
About You
You’ll be able to show the following during the assessment process:
- Strong experience of influencing and leading change on multi-million £ projects.
- Proven track record of setting and delivering year over year total procurement financial targets (TPFV)
- Ability to build procurement and category relationships across the division and globally, internally and externally
- Ability to operationally execute and contribute to key category strategies in a matrix working model
- Demonstrated Leadership capability of multi-functions teams, including internal and external stakeholder management at all levels.
- Significance experience in Indirect Category leadership.
- Experience in leading procurement category teams and purchasing/negotiating key procurement spends
- Significantly experienced in strategic sourcing, supplier management, spend analysis, scope 3 commitments, e-sourcing, supplier quality standards and contract negotiation skills across multiple procurement categories.
