Your Purpose
As our Technical Architect, you’ll find technical IT solutions for projects in our EMEA APAC division.
Working closely with our Infrastructure Manager, Infrastructure Business Partner and 1st tier vendors, you’ll manage the technical aspect (of projects across multiple geographies; manging cost, project timescales and with particular focus on transition to run. Projects could include bringing new/acquired sites into the domain or managing environment remediation, as examples.
This role will also give you exposure in a global business, with alignment to the Technical Architecture team in North America.
There will be a requirement for travel in this role, which will equate to approximately 25%. This will certainly include European travel but could be regions outside of this depending on future business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual and technical solution design for assigned projects to meet business requirements while ensuring compliance with established architectural principles, standards, and processes leveraging detailed practical knowledge of the organization’s IT infrastructure and solution development and maintenance methods, tools and techniques.
- Provide deep technical/architecture guidance to project teams in support of solution design and development. Directly accountable for the conversion of project requirements into an architecture and design that will become the blueprint for the solution being created. This conversion is based largely upon the strategies, design patterns, and best practices that have been established by the applicable architecture disciplines and guided by the requirements and objectives of the business units
- Develop architecture artifacts that will demonstrate the projects adherence to strategy, design patterns, and best practices.
- Provides technical leadership to projects and 3rd party service and technology vendors as required to support the execution of IT projects. Collaborate with outsourced service providers, 3rd party vendors, internal IT project leads and the Infrastructure Manager, to leverage defined architecture standards for solution design and development
- Participate on architectural governance team(s) and processes to guide and sanction critical architectural decisions
About You
Through the assessment process you’ll be able to show:
- Experience in information technology infrastructure or related engineering field;
- Experience managing and implementing infrastructure platforms in a complex multi-national environment;
- Knowledge and expertise in IT technology platforms and services, including computer platforms, data storage, operating systems, data networking and telecommunications, technical security and access controls;
- Experience working with or for a large 1st tier vendor;
- Understanding of strategic issues, the systems development lifecycle, and typical problems associated with implementation of infrastructure platforms;
- Strong analytical, problem solving & conceptual skills, including the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms;
- The ability to take initiative and able to operate at a strategic level, yet be hands-on enough to design and build platforms and guide project team members;
- Hold relative infrastructure-based IT certification e.g. Networking
