The Headlines:   

In the role of Tax Team Coordinator-OPEIU working in Milwaukee, WI you will be part of the Tax team.  You will be responsible for performing detailed and complex duties relating to the preparation of Excise, tax returns, including the compilation and maintenance of all related documentation for the company and its affiliates.  This position is also responsible for, documenting and processing excise tax drawbacks, and documenting and processing beer destruction requests for excise tax credit.   

 

This position reports to RTR Team Lead and works closely with state and local tax authorities and the TTB to resolve issues, exchange and supply information, and work on refunds and destructions. Vendors and distributors to exchange and provide information regarding tax laws and the application of those laws to transactions we have with them. Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Procurement (corporate and brewery) to ensure tax is properly accounted for and recorded. RTR Manager, and the Tax group to assist with supporting audits for indirect tax compliance and ensure timely filing of indirect compliance.

 

 

The Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for ensuring all required excise, and miscellaneous tax reports for Molson Coors and its affiliates are documented and filed timely
  • Prepare tax exemption certificates in compliance with state tax law at the request of the business/vendor
  • Prepare destruction requests for excise tax in compliance with TTB requirements at the request of the business / customers
  • Prepare drawback requests for excise tax credit in compliance with TTB requirements at the request of customers
  • Assistance with preparation of property tax compliance as requested
  • Prepare payment requests and timely submit payment for indirect tax compliance
  • Ensure maintenance of proper workpapers and support for previously mentioned compliance responsibilities to ensure proper audit support is maintained
  • Prepare monthly journal entries as required for indirect tax
  • Monitor the accounts payable inbox for Molson Coors and timely respond to tax inquiries in accordance with tax law
  • Monitor the SET destruction request inbox / SAP claims tool and timely respond to inquiries in accordance with tax law
  • Assist with indirect tax audits as requested, including compilation of documents requested by auditor
  • Assist the multistate team with miscellaneous projects as requested
  • Process Distributors claims to ensure that State and Federal Excise taxes are accounting for properly along with ensuring that appropriate documentation is attach for filing compliance and audit

 

 

The Other Qualifications: 

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting OR equivalent experience
  • SAP knowledge a plus
  • You understand accounting principles and journal entry preparation. 
  • You can perform account analysis and balance general ledger accounts.
  • You can detect and correct posting errors.
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities
