The Headlines:  

 

We are seeking a Senior Data Intelligence Architect located in Milwaukee, WI, you will be a part of our growing Data Intelligence team.  This role will play an integral part in designing and implementing new capabilities to enable our business to find, trust, and understand our enterprise data and the processes we tie to it.  The ideal candidate will be a thought leader and a partner who bridges the gap between business and technology forging cross-functional relationships and working consultatively with business stakeholders, data engineering, reporting, data science, analytics, and security teams. They will also be comfortable in a constantly evolving and maturing team and possess the patience and persistence required to navigate challenges to solve complex business problems.

 

This is a hands-on position that requires a “data provocateur” who has a passion for data, metadata, quality, policy, standards as well as compliance with an embedded desire to get their teams, departments, and companies to address data and information proactively.

 

You will bring your experience and passion to effectively work across the organization aligning data intelligence services with business goals to create an environment in which others can create effective and well-understood data products.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and coordinate with key members and stakeholders on cross-functional teams for data cataloging and metadata acquisition activities, information quality and issue remediation
  • Along with peers within the Data Intelligence team, manage, configure, monitor the internal instance of the Data Intelligence tooling platform directly.
  • Build out key deliverables for processes, data catalog, data dictionary, business glossary and data lineage components to support self-service and compliance for our most critical data assets
  • Work across teams to Incorporate data intelligence standards and practices into the data ecosystem
  • Collaborate to define and develop data intelligence metrics to report on the health of the enabling tools and practice and to ensure continuous improvement
  • Contribute to decisions that impact the team and our stakeholders to make effective day-to-day decisions in the context of the overall vision, goals, and standards
  • Proactively champion the value of our data intelligence tooling and work products as well as the processes for new assets and capabilities
  • Develop, communicate and enable organizational data literacy by actively engaging, promoting and building content for our internal Data Intelligence Community of Practice (CoP) helping to drive adoption and ensuring data intelligence best practices are embedded throughout the company.

 

Qualifications:

  • It is required you have 6+ years of experience performing data and analytics initiatives including but not limited to information governance, information quality, measurement, visualizations and authoring and maintaining intuitive, usable data dictionaries or glossaries
  • Preferably you have a bachelor's degree in fields such as Information Quality, Information Technology, Computer Science, Library Science, Business Intelligence, Business Administration or related studies or a graduate degree.
  • A solid understanding of information management concepts, strategies and methodologies including metadata management, metadata integration/data cataloging, information governance, lifecycle management, information modelling, master data management and requirements gathering
  • Solid grasp of DMBoK concepts and domains (CDMP certification desired)
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of data storage mediums and databases (e.g., Teradata, Databricks)
  • Experience implementing policy, procedure, quality assurance and change control programs
  • Knowledge of IT systems, applications, technologies (including cloud), and dashboarding or reporting tools like Tableau or Business Objects
  • Experience with Informatica Axon and Enterprise Data Catalog or other data cataloging solutions a strong plus
  • Negotiation, consensus building & influencing skills, facilitation and the ability to respond to change and ambiguity quickly
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with and influence all levels of the organization with a track record of taking solution ownership
  • Life-long learner who incorporates existing knowledge with new ideas resulting in a new way of viewing old methods
