The Headlines:
Toolroom Machinist will be responsible for operating, maintaining and troubleshooting machine tool room equipment, manufacturing custom machine components, surfacing and resurfacing tooling used to manufacture two-piece aluminum beverage containers and be 21 years of age. Requires machine shop experience and the ability to set-up and operate machines to close tolerance dimensions with CNC mills, lathes and surface grinders. AutoCAD and Fanuc control experience preferred, and the position requires the ability to read blueprints and drawings. Ability to use machine shop precision measuring tools and good written and verbal communication skills. Computer knowledge and the ability to work in a team environment are required. Candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts as needed.
The Responsibilities:

Drives safety initiatives in the tool room.

Operates all Tool Room machines per established guidelines and the manufacturer’s operating procedures.

Ensures Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LOTOTO) compliance is followed.

Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when operating Tool Room equipment.

Reads job blueprints and produces work orders per specification.

Products require minimal rework

Troubleshoots and takes corrective action to eliminate quality defects.

Conducts quality process reviews and structured problem-solving exercises when quality defects exceed specified limits.

Liaises with operations and technical support maintenance groups during complex machinery repairs.

Conducts machine shop preventative maintenance (PM) efforts, ensuring all PMs are completed per established schedules.

Collaborates with Manufacturing Development, Learning and Development and Production Leadership for various Focused Improvement projects regarding production tooling usage.
The Other Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.

2-5 years of machine tool operational experience.
-
1-3 years of manufacturing maintenance and troubleshooting experience

1-3 years’ experience tool manufacturing experience.

Ability to use hand tools and machine tools properly and safely.

Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.

Knowledge of CNC mills, lathes and surface grinders.

Experience with AutoCAD and Fanuc controls.

Tool and component manufacturing with minimal quality defects.

Job Posting Hourly Rate: $31.73 - $37.10
