The Headlines:


The MES – Electrical Technician assists in keeping the plants MES controls systems operating properly and at their utmost efficiency by providing  MES technical support, both proactive and reactive, for all of the MES systems operations by being the Subject Matter Expert on these system. This includes legacy systems as well as the application of new technology in the manufacturing environment.

The Responsibilities:  


  • Provide support for critical manufacturing systems, including: Data Historian (GE Proficy or OSI PI); Delta V Control Systems, PLC Systems; DCS Systems; SCADA Systems; Database programming & management (SQL)
  • Support and troubleshoot local control and communication networks: Controlnet, Profibus, Serial, Ethernet and OPC
  • Support Web-based tools for manufacturing system reporing (CSS, HTML5, VB)
  • Minimize production downtime using effective and efficient multi-craft, troubleshooting and repair skills


The Other Qualifications:  


  • Education / Certification: Post High School – Post Secondary Education in Electrical / Controls /Computer Science
  • Related Work Experience: 7+ to 10 years – A minimum of 5 years as an Electrical / Controls Technician
  • Must possess an understanding of modern technologies including electrical components, communication systems, and control systems.
  • Must possess an understanding of Maintenance Strategies for electrical equipment and systems.
  • Proficient in 4 to 8 critical systems: Data Historian (GE Proficy or OSI PI); PLC Systems; DCS Systems; Delta V; SCADA Systems; Database programming & management (i.e. SQL).
  • Understanding of multiple End User Platforms- Thin clients (Wyse terminals), virtual machines (VDI, VMware), Windows 10 OS.
