The Headlines:

 

The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for a Laboratory Technician Student Professional role at the brewery in Chippewa Falls, WI. This position may have a variety of duties assigned, ranging from the collection of samples from throughout the brewery, the performance of various chemical, physical, and microbiological tests on beer, and may include other duties as required.

 

In the role of Lab Student Professional, you will be responsible assisting with the performance of microbiological and analytical tests. This position reports to the Quality Manager, and works closely with lab staff (sensory specialist and micro/analytical specialists) as well as other members of our brewery teams.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Collecting samples from throughout the brewery

  • Performance of various chemical, physical, and microbiological tests on beer

  • Function in a fast-paced laboratory team environment to assist the lab team during our peak brewing season

  • Function well within the Leinenkugel core value matrix

 

The Other Qualifications:

  • You are serious about delivering results, and take pride in a proven track record in delivering

  • You are a self-starter with experience in Microsoft Office applications

  • You have strong interpersonal skills and are mechanically inclined

  • You must be 18 years of age at time of job start

  • You are currently seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field of study: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cereal Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Agronomy, Chemical Engineering

  • You are available to work full time during the summer, tentatively from May through August, scheduled on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift hours

  • You are available to work part time throughout the school year

  • Experience in a microbiology or analytical laboratory preferred; experience in operating/maintaining gas chromatography is a plus. PC operation experience is a requirement

  • You are able to meet the physical requirements of the position including: some lifting, bending, and pulling; Must be capable of lifting and carrying 50 pound loads; some stair climbing or use of ladders
