The Headlines:   

 

In the role of A Senior Media Manager  working in Chicago, IL, you’ll be responsible for for managing the media planning, innovation, buying and stewardship of a set of brands.  This person is a passionate thought leader focusing on strategic thinking and innovative work.  The role is to manage offline and digital in an integrated manner as well as effectively lead multiple internal partners (brand, field, channel, etc.).  Should build media plans that drive business results and embrace the digital consumption habits of consumers.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and consistently communicate a compelling media strategy which reinforces brand equities and objectives in order to achieve business goals.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by pushing for new directions and ideas
  • Responsible for a single brand or small set of brands
  • Manage multiple consumer targets including Hispanic, African American, and LGBT
  • Accountable for beating the market in terms of pricing and value
  • Provide media plans that support  brand objectives and steward plans through to completion
  • Analyze media effectiveness and productivity in order to ensure ongoing effectiveness and efficiency in media plans
  • Partner with media agencies to leverage learnings in innovation, research, planning and implementation.
  • Evaluate and review media plans
  • Develop, maintain and consistently communicate a compelling media plan for their brands 
  • Consult and influence planning activities for complex multimedia campaigns with big budgets, multiple partners, and stakeholders
  • Participate in the annual Brand planning process; responsible for identifying strategic insights through consumer media behavior, trends, past learnings, and category/purchase behavior
  • Assist in the development of best practices for implementing strategic media thinking and tactical recommendations across brands
  • Lead competitive reviews with agency, communicate insights and opportunities
  • Ensure compliance  with all regulatory and audience composition requirements
  • Attracts, leads, manages and mentors employees in such a way to ensure retention, development and superior performance of talented people
  • Interacts with agencies and media suppliers on a regular basis to ensure best thinking is brought to MillerCoors.
  • Build strong relationships and establish clear lines of communication with agency partners, Brand marketing leadership, and the media publisher community
  • Ensure distributor knowledge and positive perceptions with regards to the value of the brand media plans
  • Ensure that media plans and key elements thereof are effectively communicated throughout the system to maximize market level results (e.g.: so that media and activation are aligned) 
  • Key stakeholders are:
    • brand teams
    • field marketing directors
    • field marketing managers
    • sales general managers
  • sponsorship team

 

Requirements

 

  • A relevant related Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years media experience with either other client side Media department or ad agency media department (strategic work)
  • Knowledge of media landscape with ability to translate to impact marketing opportunities
  • Well versed in digital, social, traditional, and programmatic media
  • Ability to manage self and working environment
  • Ability to coach and manage people and performance
  • Able to persuade and negotiate effectively
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
