The Headlines


In the role of Marketing Manager, Vizzy working in Chicago, IL, you’ll be the Marketing Manager for the Vizzy Hard Seltzer brand. You’ll operate as a creative brand builder and a business owner of a brand in an extremely fast paced and dynamic industry. This position will report to the Brand Director, Hard Seltzer and works closely with internal and external stakeholders through the value chain to deliver on strategic intent. You will clearly communicate brand programs and provide direction by understanding brand strategies, link to channel strategies and applying them to the development of brand programs and creative messaging. You will ensure effective integration of brand plans / activities / marketing programming and messaging from conception through execution into the broader organization, while retaining the ability to react to competitor and market conditions. You will deliver against the brand’s strategic, volumetric and financial goals annually. This role will lead the communication plans for activation/alliance programs, lead experiential and champion CRM, 1st Party Data. In addition, the manager will own all efforts and programming against our DEI LGBTQ+ growth target. You’ll also sell the programming strategy to key external stakeholders including distributors and key retailers. You will attract, lead, manage and mentor employees in a way that ensures retention, development and superior performance.


The Responsibilities:

  • Planning:
    • Brand Analysis
    • Ensures effective integration of brand plan/activities with other company functional areas
    • Resource allocation
    • Financial planning for assigned Vizzy programs
    • Brand planning needs for assigned Vizzy programs
  • Commercial Influence:
    • Managing initiatives across the enterprise and collaboration with internal stakeholders
    • Selling marketing concepts to external stakeholders including distributors and key retailers
  • Strategy/Positioning:
    • Identifies activation opportunities and target consumers
    • Translates business and consumer insights into actional business ideas
    • Creative development across select marketing mix elements and platforms for assigned Vizzy programs
  • People Management:
    • Effectively leads, managers and develops employees to create a culture of superior performance and foster top talent
  • Brand Performance:
    • Achieve volume, profit, and brand health targets
    • Manage parts of brand portion of the P&L
    • Drive execution across select elements of marketing mix for assigned Vizzy programs
  • Program Management and Project Execution:
    • Develop, manage and ensure execution of brand programs, creative and other elements of the marketing mix, delegating certain programs to direct reports.  Ensure program results are measured, reported, and used to inform path forward
    • Clearly communicate assigned brand programs.  Provide clear direction and demonstrate leadership through meeting timelines.  Understand brand strategies, link to channel strategies and apply them to the development of brand programs and creative messaging

The Other Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-7 Years of related work experience
  • Relevant marketing experience on similar size brands
  • Master’s degree in business or marketing preferred
  • Experience in CPG marketing preferred
  • Experience working with or on sales teams preferred
  • Ability to operate with a general manager mindset and make sound business decisions
