The Headlines:    

In the role of a Marketing Design Manager working in Chicago IL,  you provide packaging design project management disciplines for assigned Brands and projects. Provide packaging design consultation and limited execution with brand teams, as well as packaging design business process improvements for the creative development portion (pre-production) of packaging design projects. 

 

Scope includes both National and Regional promotions, Brand initiated graphic redesigns, Innovations, engagements with the internal SGS team and external assigned creative agencies.

 

 

 

The Responsibilities: 

 

  • Understand overall Marketing and PMO team strategies
  • Be able to contribute to strategies to transfer into Design brief and ultimately into retail executions
  • Extensive project planning via traditional project management deliverables   
  • Work with cross functional resources to execute design projects
  • Extensive leadership of our agency partners
  • Interaction with agencies, suppliers and Marketing personnel to communicate status and remove barriers.
  • Effective communications with Project Owners and Sponsors.
  • Upward communication of project issues
  • Frequent review of project progress, issues and risks for each assigned project
  • Execute assigned projects with excellence
  • Direct ownership of Key Visual Suite/OOH

The Other Qualifications:  

 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree BFA – visual communications
  • Direct experience (5+ years) with CPG packaging development; 70% creative 30% technical execution. 
  • Proven project management (2+ years) managing multiple packaging development projects simultaneously  
  • Experience in leading external agency partners to deliver projects on time, in scope, and on budget.
  • Experience in facilitating strategic creative development process, graphic design, graphic software capability, and production level graphics execution (separations, mechanical development, print run management, and material supplier capabilities) required.
  • Experience in communicating and guiding agencies on the right priorities based on brand objectives
  • Responsiveness to cross functional needs
  • Willingness and ability to travel between Milwaukee office and Chicago HQ location on a weekly basis
