The Headlines:  

 

In the role of Legal Analyst – Marketing working in Chicago, IL you will be part of the North America Legal team.  The person will work closely with a team of other analysts who provide legal advice to marketing on a broad range of subjects including advertising claims, consumer promotions, trademark and other IP rights issues, new innovations and products and policy compliance. It will also be important to asses risks associated with advertising concepts and materials such as packaging, sweepstakes rules and assets, and communications such as digital content.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on advertising claims substantiation
  • Review and sometimes draft rules and disclaimers for consumer promotions, sweepstakes and contests
  • Perform preliminary searches on trademarks and make recommendations to brand teams and/or attorneys on proposed use
  • Provide legal support to insights research teams conducting different types of research in various states
  • Understand and enforce company policies and voluntary self-regulation guidelines

 

 

The Other Qualifications:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate or compliance experience
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a law firm and/or corporation, preferably with a CPG company
  • Knowledge of regulatory and marketing law and food labeling preferred
  • Non-practicing JD’s considered
  • You are deadly serious about results, and take pride in a proven track record in delivering
  • You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
