The Headlines:   

In the role of Commercial Development Manager working in Chicago, IL you will be part of the Commercial Center of Excellence team (CCOE). This role is responsible for facilitating, guiding, and providing stewardship of the planning process from national to specific distributor-focused initiatives within the portfolio. You will partner with peers in sales and supply chain to deliver against our sales forecast, deliver volume growth, and help to reduce out of stocks to improve and accelerate the retail sales process.


This position reports to Manager Commercial Operations and collaborates with our Sales Regions, Marketing, and Supply Chain functions.


The Responsibilities: 

  • Influence and interact across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Integrated Supply Chain to identify major risks and opportunities to a program, while understanding the financial impact and volumes (bbls) – substantiate recommendations and drive teams with fact-based information
  • Coordinate with Demand Planning and Regions to conduct analysis and determine effects/implications for sales-led initiatives
  • Support our Sales Operation Managers and enable sales teams with meaningful, actionable analysis
  • Act as an input to Project Teams on the execution of our programs – call out opportunities to challenge the status quo and demonstrate what good looks like
  • Point of contact for quality initiatives, i.e., shelf life, audits, Quality Presidents Award
  • Partner with several Chain teams and provide support and guidance on planning processes by utilizing several reports to drive and track results


 The Other Qualifications:  

  • 3-5 years’ experience in strategy or planning (preferably in CPG)
  • A robust foundation in Sales and/or Operations is required
  • Experience successfully working in functional and cross-functional teams, especially with a sales force and supply chain teams
  • Excellent analytical skills and working knowledge of CPG information resources
