The Headlines

 

In the role of Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Controls Engineer or Systems technician or Systems Engineer) working at the Trenton (Ohio) Brewery you will be part of the Information Technology team. The person will provide manufacturing execution, automation and controls technical systems expertise and core competencies to deliver manufacturing systems support to the brewery functions (warehouse).

 

The position report to the Manager of Brewery Systems and works closely with Systems Engineers to support standard technologies, automation and to provide process improvements through innovation and optimization. Function as the technical lead for process control systems automation and integration opportunities through active project participation in enterprise-driven capital projects impacting the brewery.  Ensure that problems and issues with brewery manufacturing systems are resolved in a timely and effective manner aligned to agreed service level agreements.

 

This person will work with the Corporate BIS Teams and Brewery Manufacturing Systems groups to optimize processes, applications, and technologies. Collaborates to generate practices and standards in forums/councils which are utilized to improve Manufacturing Systems performance and best practices. Responsible for the safety and quality of our products by adhering to all rules, regulations, policies, programs, and related Molson Coors Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Provide brewery functional support; work with the warehouse teams to ensure that systems are being fully utilized and add value to the department and the teams.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to Plant Operations and Technicians to improve plant proficiency in the use of process control automation and MES solutions.
  • Ensures sustained integrity and stability to brewery Process Automation and MES solutions in a 24x7 operating environment through strong governance and best practices.
  • Ensures Process Automation and MES system software and hardware at appropriate revision levels.
  • Responsible for software change management and version control of production instance of process automation system.

 

The Other Qualifications:

 

  • You have previous manufacturing experience in automation control design and /or programming.
  • Or you have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • You have a basic understanding of Automation control systems (PLC’s; DCS’), Control Networks and Instrumentation, Warehouse automation systems, SAP ECC, EWM.
  • You have proven systems technology skills and experience in Manufacturing Systems Networks and architectures, Manufacturing Systems Applications, Distributed Control Systems (DCS’s) or Human Machine Interfaces (HMI’s)
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.  You act with appropriate urgency to various market events and trends that require a quick turnaround in plans and strategy 
  • You are confident and competent. You are diplomatic, professional and exercise great judgment in developing and maintaining excellent business relationships within the business
  • Service Management and Delivery (ITIL Process Knowledge) is preferred
  • Project Management experience is preferred
