Your Purpose

 

This role is to provide a structured, efficient and cost-effective approach to planning and scheduling all engineering and autonomous maintenance tasks throughout the relevant department. The role should reduce the non-value added activities of all engineers within the department, drive a high performing production facility and be a key role in defining and implementing the engineering strategy.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops, coordinates and delivers comprehensive work schedules for craft engineers, autonomous maintenance teams and contractors, providing production planners advanced notification of required engineering timescales whilst maintaining a flexible approach to meet production output.
  • Ensures all necessary stakeholders are kept informed of all planned activities through the development and delivery of planned cross-functional planning meetings.
  • Actively measures the effectiveness of all engineering activities to ensure that best practice is achieved, production volume loss is minimised and continous improvement processes are applied.
  • Ensures maintenance schedules include 5S, safety and environmental work practices. Builds contingency planning into lengthy or complicated planned stoppages.
  • Records and controls all completed activities and monitors fault repetition to ensure root cause fix is in place. Schedules all activities to build modular maintenance approach and reduce the requirement of extended shutdowns.
  • Work with production managers and technicians to assist the implementation and ongoing support of autonomous maintenance tasks.
  • Actively engages with engineers at all times to help identify strengths and development needs of engineers to allow the effective planning of tasks aswell as working with the engineering and production managers to develop requirements for further training and development.

 

 

About You

 

  • Time served engineer within a recognised apprenticeship scheme, with C&G (electrical or mechanical)
  • Analytical mindset
  • Experience working in maintenance (FMCG desirable)
