We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Packaging Manager to join the leadership team at Burton Brewery, our largest, and most advanced brewery in Europe.


Your Purpose 


In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for guiding the team within the Burton Brewery Packaging department and the site AM (Autonomous Maintenance) pillar. You’ll play a significant role in leading the entirety of the site and as part of our team, be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the facility.


Key Responsibilities


Accountable for safely optimising efficiency in all areas of Packaging utilising WCSC Processes which contribute to world class standards of operation and asset management to continuously improve performance.


Leads Innovation projects and transformational change combining technology and people processes to improve responsiveness, adaptability and efficient performance.


Accountable for building a winning Packaging team by role modelling our values and actively coaching people’s development by the application of robust people management practices, creating space for effective coaching and communication.


Responsible for ensuring that all health, safety and environment, quality, cost and reliability standards are met and driving conformance to regulatory (e.g., EH&S/Sarbanes-Oxley) and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO/HACCP etc) in Packaging.


Responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and reliability of all assets within Packaging by leading the AM pillar and actively supporting the PM pillar.


Develop and manage packaging strategy to meet or exceed annual plans, develop and execute budgetary and capital plans, review existing equipment capacity and manpower in order to meet long range planning goals which are aligned to brewery and Molson Coors Strategy.


As part of an integrated brewery management team, sets objectives and priorities and leads the change management processes for the department.


About You 


We’re keen to hear from experienced manufacturing leadership professionals who have led large and complex manufacturing functions in the beverages, FMCG or similar sectors.


This is a unique and challenging role with a large people remit, so you’ll need the technical expertise in packaging or similar and an advanced knowledge of manufacturing cost management.


Due to the complexity of our site and processes, it’s essential that you have change management experience and expertise of a lean manufacturing (or similar) journey and implementation. It would be preferred if you were also AM (Autonomous Maintenance) 1-3 qualified and have experience of using and coaching lean / six sigma tools and techniques.


In addition to the above, we need outstanding leadership capabilities with a demonstrable career history in leading, motivating and developing people and high performing teams. Our teams are at the heart of everything we do.
