The Software Engineer (ServiceNow) is responsible for the design, development and implementation of software applications together with process leads around the world to meet the needs of the company increasing the value in the MCBC investment. This role aims to obtain results in accordance with different specifications, performing tasks in a certain time frame.
The Software Engineer may mentor junior developers and performs Quality Control checks on code components and overall code reviews. ServiceNow is our strategic global platform for supporting IT Service Management (ITSM) and GBS Service Management (HR, Master Data, OTC, PTP, RTR) used by 11,500+ users and has over 25 integrations with other systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing solutions, actively engaged in Software development & configuration, under the technical direction of IT management and ITIL process owners taking a product through the entire lifecycle of analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation. Collaborating with other software developers, business analysts, architects and IT professionals to implement solutions.
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine solution options and feasibility of solution development within time and cost constraints, providing estimates and analyzing complex systems requirements and preparing design documentation.
- Develop all aspects of an application design – coding for security, encryption, error logging, debugging, scalability and performance, plus creation of development environment configuration, and application testing to meet ServiceNow best practices and MCBC standards.
- Perform unit and system level testing on developed software applications to ensure performance, scalability, coding, caching, security, encryption, session state management, and error logging and testing.
- Assist with deployment, provisioning, support, and upgrade activities, write and maintain technical documentation/runbooks to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections, troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing software.
- Manage small programs and projects, pilots, and proof of concepts, including as technical leader.
SKILLS & RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years experience with software/application development. At least 2 years of experience implementing, designing, and developing solutions in ServiceNow with a proven track record.
- Proficient with developing, deploying, customizing and integrating software solutions
- Working experience in the ServiceNow application and best practices
- Good experience with technologies like HTML, CSS, JSON, Angular JS, JavaScript
- Good knowledge of web performance optimizations
- Good command of English language
- Proficient with developing, deploying, customizing and integrating software solutions
- Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
- Ability to quickly pick up new technologies, and frameworks
- Given this role is part of a global team, the work hours overlap with the US morning (Central time zone). As part of the team, the person is required to be part of a 24x7 on-call rotation.
Preferred:
- Understanding of ITIL Foundations version 3 or version 4 (Certification Preferred)
- Prefered experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies, frameworks and related tools
- Prefer experience in working with 3rd Party Service Providers (vendors)
