The person plays a key role in IT security, responsible for helping define, build, implement, maintain, and enforce SAP security standards, processes, and procedures that ensure company data and information assets are protected.  The role also acts as a subject matter expert for SAP Security ensuring that necessary and appropriate SAP access able to be provisioned/deprovisioned timely. The design access roles that address company business processes while also working with key financial and access controls including segmentation of duties and access risk. 

They will monitor and provide quality assurance of the technical implementation by the service provider resources regarding SAP security deliverables. They will also confer with the North American Security Manager and team for direction with project deliverables to ensure security standards meet global template requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, create, test, support, maintain, and improve SAP Security to provide necessary and appropriate access to technical and functional users across a complex Global SAP environment
• Ensure all new SAP Security implementations comply with Company Policies/Standards/Processes/Procedures/Strategy/Governance requirements while working to continuously improve already implemented SAP Security to align with those requirements.  Create/update documentation as needed.
• Assist with internal/external audit and Information Technology (IT) Governance activities/queries. Assist with Internal Controls activities/queries including periodic access recertifications and risk analysis.
• Research and recommend options necessary to avoid/eliminate Segregation of Duty (SoD) violations.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs for SAP-related security including roles/tools and related provisioning processes.
• Complete Security Assessments as needed for new projects and/or technologies.

Skills and Relevant Work Experience

• Strong understanding of SAP Authorization Concepts with a minimum of 5 years SAP Security experience, including: experience designing, building, testing, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting SAP security within ABAP systems (APO, BI/BW, CRM, ECC, EM, EWM, HANA, SOLMAN, SRM, TM, XI/PI) & experience designing, building, testing, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting SAP security within Java systems (BOBJ, BI/BW, MDM, MII, Portal, SLD, XI/PI).
• Experience designing, building, testing, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting SAP security within SAP Hana Studio/Database preferred.
• Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Central User Administration (CUA) preferred.
• Experience with designing and automating provisioning of SAP access via an Identity Access Management (IDM, IAM) tool.
• Experience with creating and migrating security-related Transports.
• Ability to design and implement RBAC models to ensure appropriate user permissions.
• Expertise in managing user authorizations to prevent data breaches.
• Skills in auditing and monitoring systems to identify security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
