The Headlines:    

 

In the role of Utilities Optimization Engineer working in our Toronto Brewery in Toronto, ON you will be part of the Technical Service DepartmentYou will lead the development and implementation of Energy, Water and Green House Gas reductions through people, process, and technical improvements. 

  

You will have an opportunity to reduce our “beer print” through process optimization, asset improvement, and new technology utilizing the techniques of problem solving and continuous improvement.  Actively seeks out best practices through internal and external benchmarking. 

 

This position reports to the Director of Technical Services and works closely with all groups in the brewery. 

 

The Responsibilities: 

 

Be the champion for the exploration, identification, and implementation of initiatives to drive energy efficiency, reduce Green House Gas emissions, minimize water consumption, and enhance wastewater management.  

 

  • Lead the sustainability replated projects creation and implementation.
  • Explore, adapt, and deploy industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies to advance brewery operation in utility, energy, CO2 self sufficiency, water consumption and wastewater management.
  • Collaborate with business partners for the improvement of people and process.
  • Work within WCSC (World Class Supply Chain) framework to sustain the improvement and development.
  • Data reporting and information sharing with corporate sustainability team and cross brewery network.
  • Problem solving and debugging sustainability and energy optimization related subjects.
  • Participate and contribute utility system PSM and PHA to prevent health, safety and environmental impact.

 

The Other Qualifications:  

  • Possess a proven track record of achievement in efficiency gains, Sustainability and change management
  • Demonstrable evidence of driving World Class Supply Initiatives to deliver on challenging objectives  
  • You are a skilled negotiator focused on the client; your constant curiosity fosters your innovative style, and you can equally execute ideas given to you.  
  • You will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience required.
  • You have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in an engineering, efficiency, or sustainability influencing position which took place in an industrial environment with a focus on optimizing performance and leading capital projects.
