The Headlines:

 

We are looking for a Senior Manager Manufacturing Systems (MS) to lead our National MS team. This team member will be based in our Toronto corporate office. 

 

As a member of the Industrial Services and Support leadership team, the Sr. Manager, MES will provide thought leadership and direction for the Manufacturing Systems used nationally within the Supply Chain. 

 

This role requires that the successful candidate lead through influence and leverage their team of technical resources to effectively manage direct/indirect reports at both a national and local level. As part of the position, the Sr. Manager, MS must also cultivate and manage relationships with strategic partners.

 

The Sr. Manager, MES is the national subject matter expert for all MES-related components of major capital projects and has key accountability in the capital SRP/LRP process. For projects and initiatives related specifically to MES, the Sr. Manager MES is the primary national stakeholder.

 

The Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the effective management of a team of national MS engineers and technical specialists. This includes the communication of departmental KPIs, coaching, mentoring, performance management and career development.
  • Full accountability for the engineering, management and execution support of "One-way" Manufacturing Systems on capital projects.
  • Responsible for the short term/long term strategic technology roadmap.
  • Ownership of the supply chain's manufacturing systems run performance and support. This includes performance monitoring, supporting/troubleshooting, change management and system maintenance/patching.
  • Cultivation of relationships with strategic partners and third-party technology providers.

 

The Other Qualifications:

 

  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a wide audience.
  • Proven people management skills through both direct and indirect reporting relationships.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Manufacturing Systems project engineering support for electrical, controls and automation and manufacturing execution systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Has successfully engineered, executed and managed complex MS and/or IT projects.
  • Experience in supporting major/minor capital projects with varying degrees of MS components and integration.
  • Technical understanding of electrical installations, power distribution, programming, information systems and network architecture.
