Molson Coors is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join the Powerhouse Engineering team at the Toronto Brewery. This position will be required to be flexible to work all shifts.
As a Shift Engineer, you’ll support the Chief Engineer in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient powerhouse operations. You’ll perform routine operational duties, oversee equipment and systems within the powerhouse’s scope, and step in as a relief maintenance engineer when needed to maintain continuity. You’ll also participate in emergency response activities, providing critical operational support during both regular hours and unexpected situations. This role works closely with maintenance teams, operations personnel, and other plant stakeholders to uphold consistent performance and operational excellence.
This is a unionized position (IUOE, Local 772) reporting to the Toronto Brewery Chief Engineer. Pay for this role is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
What You’ll Be Brewing:
• Maintain and operate boilers, air compressors, ammonia refrigeration, CO2 collection/distribution, process and wastewater treatment, fire alarm and gas monitoring, and various other utility/facility equipment
• Perform boiler feedwater and cooling water tests
• Communicate daily utility operation activities with Chief Engineer and update all engineering logs daily
• Maintain accurate and up to date maintenance records and work orders
• Responsible for housekeeping, a clean work area, and maintaining shop equipment/tools
• Address safety issues and concerns immediately
• Ensure preventative maintenance programs are done based on assigned schedules
• Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives on all aspects and maintain/improve the existing PM systems
• Timely and organized response to equipment related problems that impact production requirements
• Any other related duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer
• Maybe required to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts
• Follow all lock out/tag out procedures as required
• Follow company policies on Health, Safety and Environmental and PPE requirements
• Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant company, provincial and federal safety regulations, codes, and specifications
Key Ingredients:
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum Ontario 2nd Class Operating Engineer Certification
• 3 rd Class Certification with some progress towards 2nd Class Certification can be considered with set time condition to complete
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced team environment
• Must be able to work continental shifts
• Comfortable working in cold and warm environments
• Loves a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities
