The Headlines:   

In the role of Sr. Communications Specialist working in Toronto, ON you will be part of the Americas Communications and Corporate Affairs team.  You will partner with senior leaders across the Molson Coors business in Canada and the United States to develop and implement effective, external-facing communications strategies that support Molson Coors’ business objectives and its presence in hometown and brewery communities across provinces.


This position reports to our  Senior Director of Corporate Affairs  and works closely with the executive leadership team, the government affairs team and Corporate Affairs colleagues in Canada and US.


The Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and deepen relationships with English- and French-language media across Canada, with an emphasis on Ontario and Quebec. Serve as primary contact for all corporate media inquiries and proactive outreach.
  • Act as the primary media spokesperson for all corporate-communications and community-affairs matters in Canada, including crisis and issues communications.
  • Serve as primary contact for all community involvement initiatives, both at the national level and the provincial level. Uphold not-for-profit community partnerships, especially in territories where Molson Coors’ has a brewery or office presence and ensure that local and national efforts support Molson Coors’ environmental, social and governance commitments.
  • Counsel and train senior executives on context-specific messaging for media interviews, public speaking opportunities and thought leadership.
  • Partner with other areas of communications team (marketing communications, internal communications) to ensure all major announcements reflect a coordinated, cross-audience approach, and are executed with excellence.


The Other Qualifications: 

  • Fluent in French and English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with effective mass communications and a wide array of communications platforms
  • Experience in communications plan development and execution for specialized programs and segmented audiences
  •  Superior organizational and project management skills that includes program/event planning and tactical execution.
  • 6+ years experience in the field of communications, journalism or politics
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities
  • You build relationships and collaborate to get to the desired outcome  
  • You take accountability for results – acting with integrity and honoring commitments  
  • You have a thirst for learning – you are always looking for ways to learn and help one another grow
