The Headlines:

 

Reporting to the Sr. Manager People Development, the Learning and Development (L&D) Manager designs and manages the delivery of a wide variety of technical and leadership training programs that address skill development and personal development for employees within the brewery. The L&D Manager will develop and execute plans and budgets necessary to implement our World Class Supply Chain (WCSC) culture using L&D methodology. This role ensures that competencies required by existing and evolving processes and plant and equipment are identified and incorporated into company training programs.

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Works with Brewery HR, EH&S, WCSC, Engineering, management and unions to identify, obtain, design and execute programs needed to meet brewery business requirements.
  • Works with Management team to optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of overall L&D processes for the brewery to achieve the intended business outcomes.
  • Responsible for working with the WCSC Pillar Team locally and regionally to execute the Education and Training Pillar for Toronto site and to work with and inform the leadership team on the ET Pillar.  This includes being able to coach on pillar work processes and execute completion of the Skill Needs Assessment and Prioritization Work, Training Plan and Budget Management, Trainer and Curriculum Development, Materials Management and support for the company’s skill qualification process.
  • Develops and maintains competency matrices for all business unit jobs that require internal leadership/technical/apprenticeship/basic operations skills training. 
  • Maintains training records for all employees through our LMS; tracks cost of training and ensures that training programs are optimally cost effective.
  • Manages a system of technical training and certification for all production and craft positions.  Maintains all L&D records through the LMS to satisfy local management and legally required documentation.
  • Works with Operations team to ensure all SOPs are current and accurate.
  • Conducts evaluations to gauge training effectiveness and successful skill transference to the job and uses that information to coach improvement within the brewery.
  • Ensures training delivered utilizes internal, global or national providers prior to outsourcing.
  • Responsible for overseeing induction and onboarding programs for new employees and employees changing positions.
  • Works with National PD team in the facilitation of various courses supporting Leadership Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Onboarding of all new employees in Canada

 

The Qualifications:

  • You have a certification in training and/or undergraduate degree in Adult Education
  • You have 3-5 years of relevant work experience in adult learning.
  • You can manage a broad spectrum of L&D program and projects
  • You have experience in executing assessments, design, development and implementation of learning interventions
  • You have strong facilitation skills
  • Your project management skills are unsurpassed
  • You have the capacity to manage priorities and can work under pressure and manage multiple large projects simultaneously
