In the role of Director WCSC & Operations working in Toronto you will provide leadership, governance, support and tools aimed at creating a safe work environment, producing high quality products right the first time, improving operating costs competitivenessand delivering an effective and productive operation that reduces variability across the functions. As leader of the WCSC program for the site and owner of the IM Pillar, this role will utilizeWCSC principles and capability building to advance the sites phase progression.  As the IM Pillar owner, develops and facilitates brewery strategy creating brewery-wide linkages to strategy and masterplans. 

Provides leadership in the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives. Leads, promotes, and recognizes shared learning and innovation.  Provides oversight and facilitation for change management and manages the change forecast in collaboration with the brewery leadership, brewery trio teams, and corporate stakeholders.    

Builds and develops a team of employees in the areas of technical and leadership development.  Responsible for a multi disciplinary team of direct and indirect reports.  Leads, mentors, and develops assigned team in Performance, Career, and Talent Management.  Promotes and creates an environment which engages employees in business processes.            

  

This position reports to the Director of Operations & WCSC and works closely with site leadership team.

  • Budget achieved

Leads and Manages Process, Efficiency, and Cost Improvement

  • Leads and manages the creation, execution, and implementation of processes, efficiencies, cost improvement, and variability reduction
  • Leads, defines, and develops strategic direction for continuous improvement, business migration, and cross-business integration
  • Leads and supports implementation of initiatives to improve operating costs, productivity, and efficiency
  • Develops strategy to reduce variability using tools and techniques
  • Provides leadership over brewery core operating departments
  • Provides systemic guidance as needed

Develops and Facilitates Brewery-Wide Strategy

  • As a member of the Brewery Leadership Team, develops, manages, and implements brewery strategy to meet or exceed enterprise-wide strategy
  • Develops, manages, and implements manufacturing excellence and quality strategy to meet or exceed annual plans
  • Develops budgetary and capital plans and reviews capability and staffing to meet long-range planning goals aligned with brewery and MillerCoors strategy
  • Owns the IM Pillar Master Plan and supports development of the LDR Pillar Master Plan

Leads Performance, Talent, and Engagement Across Functions

  • Leads Brewing, Packaging, Customer Service, and Supply performance, talent, and career management
  • Creates a culture of employee engagement
  • Builds a winning team by role modeling leadership requirements and WCSC principles and practices
  • Ensures full leverage of people management processes
  • Follows performance, talent, and career management processes and supports development opportunities
  • Drives performance management through one-on-ones, team discussions, and alignment of goals
  • Coaches, communicates effectively, recognizes desired behaviors and results, and builds partnerships across the brewery and supply chain
  • Mentors and coaches team members in correct role execution
  • Supports structured communications and ensures effective weekly and monthly meetings

Provides Oversight and Guidance for Change Management

  • Owns site change management strategy under the IM Pillar, including advancement of expertise in WCSC foundational elements and pillars
  • Oversees and facilitates change management across the brewery in partnership with leadership, quad teams, and corporate partners
  • Enhances and maintains the brewery’s capability to manage change effectively
  • Provides strategic guidance to foster a culture that embraces and adapts to change
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration between department managers and L4 to enable agile decision-making and rapid response to change

 

Key Ingredients:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering OR equivalent experience (8-10 years)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ brewery leadership experience and management experience in a world class supply chain, IWSor lean operations with proven leadership skills    
  • Experience as a front line supervisory position in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of WCSC or IWS principles.                        
  • Knowledge of brewing, packaging, order handling, maintenance and warehouse/shipping.              
  • Proven ability to manage/lead a salaried exempt workforce in achievement of established goals.              
  • Understanding of quality systems, structured problem solving, and statistical process control.            
  • Expert in change management methodologies and techniques, preferably ADKAR.            
  • Exemplified safety leadership and proactive safety mindset translated in into safety culture result and demonstrated skill of influence and presence with business leadership.          
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and food/beverage industry safety and quality risks.            
  • Results orientated and ability to prioritize near and long term projects.           
  • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.

Pay and Benefits:
 

At Molson Coors, we’re committed to paying people fairly and equitably for the work they do.


Job Posting Total Rewards Offerings: $142,700.00 - $187,300.00 (posting salary range) + 20target short term incentive + $15,000 USD + 600 Non-Qualified Stock Options target long term incentive + $11,000 on average spent on benefits per employee, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, retirement with above market employer match, wellness incentives and EAP + paid time off (including holidays, vacation days and sick days).
