Molson Coors Beverage Company (MCBC) is executing an exciting new strategy, Horizon 2030, helping the company achieve success and set a path for future growth. The Communications team is responsible for instilling belief in the strategy, and we are looking for a strong corporate communications professional who can utilize their expertise to help us tell our story externally.

 

In the role of corporate communications manager based in Toronto, Canada, you are responsible for overseeing and implementing media relations strategies, crisis and issues responses, executive thought leadership while also supporting industry affairs initiatives in Canada.

 

Reporting to the corporate communications team lead, you will develop a strong foundational understanding of Molson Coors' portfolio, its long-range objectives and its key external stakeholder audiences, including English and French-language Canadian news media, shareholders, government officials, regulatory bodies and trade organizations.

 

What You’ll Be Brewing:  

  • Lead external communications strategies that elevate Molson Coors’ corporate reputation, brand portfolio and employer profile in Canada, grounded in a clear, narrative-first approach. This includes reviewing and approving external communications materials developed by internal or external partners to ensure accuracy, consistency and timing alignment.
  • Work cross-functionally across communications and business teams, connecting the dots quickly and effectively to ensure a cohesive message across announcements, events, and key initiatives.
  • Develop and execute an integrated corporate media strategy, including proactive editorial planning, storytelling across earned and owned channels, and the development of high-quality media materials (press releases, statements, Q&As, talking points, scripts, bios, fact sheets) that ensure consistency, accuracy, and strong positioning.
  • Oversee the corporate communications budget for Canada, including agency management and communications tools and reporting resources.
  • Manage agency relationships and external vendors, including oversight of PR, marketing, and analytics partners, ensuring delivery against strategic objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and regional media, leading outreach, pitching, media briefings, and ongoing engagement.
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to senior leadership, developing national and local communications plans aligned to business priorities and providing counsel on preparation, messaging, positioning, and visibility.
  • Act as primary comms spokesperson in Canada when interfacing with stakeholder audiences, leading media engagement and overseeing crisis and issues communications.
  • Monitor the external environment to identify reputational risks and industry trends, shaping proactive and reactive messaging and response strategies.
  • Partner with Government Affairs and industry associations to support industry affairs communications and initiatives in a dynamic regulatory environment.

 

Key Ingredients:  

  • You have 8–10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, public affairs, or related fields. In-house experience with a food and beverage or CPG company preferred.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4+ years).
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and preferably also in French.
  • You have demonstrated ability to translate business priorities into compelling narratives, with strong expertise in editorial storytelling, content development, and integrated communications planning for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
  • You have a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape, with proven success building media relationships and leveraging traditional and digital/social platforms to drive impactful external storytelling.
  • You have experience developing and executing strategic communications plans, with strong organizational and project management skills to deliver complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • You have proven expertise in crisis and issues management, with the ability to assess risk, “connect the dots” quickly, and deliver clear, timely, and effective responses under pressure.
  • You have strong executive presence and influencing skills, with experience advising and interacting effectively with senior leaders and confidently delivering a clear, informed point of view.
  • You are highly collaborative relationship-builder, able to work cross-functionally (including government affairs and other stakeholders) and externally to drive alignment and results.
  • You are self-directed and an agile operator who thrives in fast-paced environments, executes with speed and accuracy, and brings curiosity, strong judgment, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
